WATCH: Argentina's Javier Milei Greets Trump With Huge Bear Hug; "President!"

Two worlds collided at CPAC earlier today, when President Trump met Argentina’s libertarian president, Javier Milei.

Milei has made it clear that he loves Trump. And, Trump loves him.

Javier Milei has himself been dubbed as the ‘Trump of Argentina.’ After his historic landslide win, Trump posted on Truth Social to congratulate Milei on his victory and encourage him to “Make Argentina Great Again!”

Upon meeting Trump backstage at CPAC 2024, Milei shouted out enthusiastically, “President!” and gave Trump a huge bear hug.

AP reported on Trump and Milei’s meeting:

Javier Milei, the fiery, right-wing populist president of Argentina, gave Donald Trump on Saturday an ecstatic hug a day after meeting with Biden administration officials in Buenos Aires.

Trump and Milei were the biggest speakers to wrap up the annual Conservative Political Action Conference outside Washington. During their backstage greeting, captured in a video posted by a Trump campaign staffer, Milei shouted “President!” and pulled Trump in for a close hug before they took pictures together.

Milei took office in December after running a campaign inspired by Trump, complete with red “Make Argentina Great Again” hats in a nod to the former president’s own “Make America Great Again” movement. He was the last of several foreign politicians at CPAC to echo popular Trump themes on issues like migration and the perceived threat of socialism.

Donald Trump was greeted by Argentinian President Javier Milei with a massive bear hug backstage at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

Trump aide Dan Scavino Jr tweeted a clip of the interaction shortly before 4pm on Saturday, when both Mr Trump and Mr Milei spoke at the conference.

Mr Trump welcomed Mr Milei during his speech, saying “we have a tremendous group of dignitaries, leaders, world leaders and local leaders … from all over the world people with us right now at this moment in the room and just mentioned … [the] President of Argentina who’s gotten a lot of publicity”.

“He’s a great gentleman … he said ‘I am Maga’ then I realized these are the few [who] can really do it,” he added. “We’ll make Argentina great again – Javier Milei – Thank you very much.”
