Former Trump Official Michael Gill, Victim of Downtown D.C. Carjacking Shooting, Succumbs To Injuries

Well, unfortunately it turns out ex-Trump official, Mike Gill, family man and father, didn’t make it.

It was just last Monday that he was caught up in a carjacking that resulted in him receiving a gunshot wound.

The suspected gunman, identified by police as 28-year-old, Artell Cunningham, went on to steal a vehicle right afterward, fatally shooting another man.

New York Post reports:

Trump official Mike Gill, who was shot by a carjacker Monday in Washington D.C., died from his wounds on Saturday, Fox 5 DC reported.

“It is with profound sadness that I wish to inform the community of the passing of my husband, Mike Gill,” his wife, Kristina Gill, said in a statement.

Former Donald Trump official Mike Gill died days after he was shot by a gunman on a carjacking spree in Washington D.C.

Gill had served as Trump’s chief operating officer of the Commodity Futures Trading.

The Washington Post added:

Michael “Mike” Gill, 56, the man shot and critically wounded this week in downtown Washington during an hours-long crime rampage in the District and Maryland, died Saturday, his wife said.

Gill, a senior vice president of the Housing Policy Council, a trade association, was married and the father of three. He had worked on Capitol Hill and served three terms as an appointee to the D.C. Board of Elections.

Gill drove his Jeep early Monday evening to pick up his wife at her law office near Mount Vernon Square. He called his wife, Kristina, and told her he was waiting downstairs.

But according to authorities, a man climbed into his vehicle and shot him. His wife found him on the sidewalk. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Fox News also added more details:

It was around 5:45 p.m. Monday when Gill was attacked. Police say he was sitting inside his vehicle that was parked in the 900 block of K. Street in northwest Washington when the suspected gunman, identified by police as 28-year-old Artell Cunningham, entered and shot him. The attack on Gill was the first of many reported in a carjacking rampage.
