WATCH: Elon Musk Teases Plans For ‘Historically Accurate’ Version Of ‘The Odyssey’ By Year’s End

Amid concerns from many Americans about “woke” casting and narrative in the new blockbuster film “The Odyssey,” the world’s richest person is once again prepared to swoop in with a solution.

This time, he’s responding to calls for him to back a competing project that would provide a more accurate representation of the timeless tale.

As Breitbart reported:

“Before this year ends, Grok Imagine will make a full-length movie of ‘The Odyssey’ that is historically accurate and true to the art of Homer,” Musk wrote, without offering any further details on the venture. Watch footage of the AI-generated “Odyssey” below.

Then in a separate follow-up X post, Musk noted he was “down” with one fan’s suggestion of giving “Mel Gibson $100 million to film an Odyssey adaptation with painstakingly historically accurate ships, armour, weapons and casting, with all dialogue taken straight from the original poem and delivered in Homeric Greek.”

The Wrap notes Musk has been sharing his displeasure at the new film widely, “given he’s repeatedly spoken out against the Matt Damon-led film for its casting decisions.”

Just saw The Odyssey. Despite what you may have heard, literally all of the criticisms by conservatives were entirely correct. The movie is just as woke as you fear, if not more so. The DEI casting is atrocious. Completely takes you out of the story right from the beginning. But even worse than that is Nolan’s decision to turn Odysseus into an anachronistic whiney, solemn shell of a man plagued by “trauma” and guilt. It’s impossible to overlook these flaws because the film itself is not terribly entertaining or well constructed. For the most part it is disjointed, dull, self-serious, disenchanted, somehow feeling both verbose and overly rushed at the same time. The dialogue is some of the worst I’ve ever heard in a “critically acclaimed” film. “On the nose” and “clunky” are descriptions that can’t even begin to describe this script. At no point in the story does Nolan ever transport the audience to the ancient world. You never feel like you’re 3,000 years in the past. You feel like you’re watching modern Americans put on a pageant, because you are. Nobody would be calling this thing a masterpiece if it was made by a director not named Christopher Nolan.

Previous posts claim the director has “grossly insulted the Greek people” by not including Greek actors. “Shame on him” for doing so, Musk added.

The movie has already surpassed its budget of $250 million in its first weekend, grossing around $265 million globally and $125 million domestically. This marks the best opening of Nolan’s career.

In his latest post, Musk reposted a three-minute clip of a trailer generated by Grok, the artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot made by Musk’s xAI, and claimed the artificial intelligence will be able to recreate the full-length movie that is “true to the art of Homer.”
