And now we have another big name to add to the list....and this time it comes from a former Primary Opponent.
In a significant political move, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, who recently suspended his own presidential campaign, has officially endorsed Donald Trump for the presidency. The endorsement came during a Trump campaign event in Indianola, Iowa, this Sunday.
Governor Burgum, who faced challenges in his presidential bid, including low poll numbers and failing to qualify for key GOP debates, publicly announced his support on stage. "I’m here to do something unique," Burgum stated. "I am endorsing Donald J. Trump for president."
This endorsement is noteworthy as it occurs while Trump continues to maintain a lead in the polls preceding the Iowa caucuses. The caucuses are a critical early step in the presidential nomination process, where party members in Iowa select their preferred candidate.
During his endorsement, Governor Burgum highlighted several of Trump's achievements that influenced his decision. "President Trump has diligently worked to safeguard our nation's borders, significantly reduced bureaucratic red tape, implemented the largest tax reductions in American history, and notably boosted our economy," Burgum elaborated.

“President Trump is going to win the Republican nomination,” Bergum told CNN on Monday. “It’s not going to be close. He’s going to be up against Joe Biden. And as a governor and as a business person, I’ve had an opportunity to see what it’s like under each of those presidents.”
“And I can tell you in our state, which is an energy state, an ag state, we were much better off under President Trump. And I know when we campaign on three things: economy, energy, national security. Those things are all three interrelated. Joe Biden’s taking this country in 180 degrees the wrong direction. And I know that under a Trump administration, we’re going to be going in the right direction on that.”
