Nancy Pelosi Gets Bad News From Interim Speaker Patrick McHenry

Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi received an email from House Speaker pro-tempore Patrick McHenry.

In the email, McHenry told Nancy Pelosi that she needed to vacate her hideaway office.

Typically, these special offices are limited to special, high-ranking representatives.

As Speaker of the House, it made sense for Pelosi to occupy this office.

However, Kevin McCarthy allowed Pelosi to remain in her office despite taking over as speaker nine months ago.

On Tuesday, the House voted to remove Kevin McCarthy from office.

This came after McCarthy supposedly made a deal with Democrats to continue funding Ukraine.

Representative Matt Gaetznumerous times, leading vocally opposed Kevin McCarthy from ever becoming Speaker of the House.

This led to 15 ballots over the course of four days.

To finally become Speaker, McCarthy conceded to many demands to get the remaining votes that he needed.

However, he failed to deliver on numerous occasions which led Gaetz to make a motion to vacate.

McCarthy kept a list, in accordance with House rules, of potential replacements.

Patrick McHenry’s name featured prominently on that list.

As an ardent McCarthy supporter, McHenry pleaded with House Democrats to vote to keep McCarthy as speaker.

In the end, McCarthy was out and McHenry was in.

Patrick McHenry made the eviction one of his first acts as the interim speaker.

Not a single Democrat sided with McCarthy, so this move looks a little petty.

Pelosi remained in California to attend memorial services for Dianne Feinstein who died recently.

She released the following statement after getting booted from her office.

With all of the important decisions that the new Republican Leadership must address, which was are all eagerly awaiting, one of the first actions taken by the new Speaker Pro Tempore was to order me to immediately vacate my office in the Capitol. Sadly, because I am in California to mourn the loss of and pay tribute to my dear friend Dianne Feinstein, I am unable to retrieve my belongings at this time.

This eviction is a sharp departure from tradition. As Speaker, I gave former Speaker Hastert a significantly larger suite of offices for as long as he wished.

Office space doesn’t matter to me, but it seems to be important to them. Now that the new Republican Leadership has settled this important matter, let’s hope they get to work on what’s truly important to the American people.

Clearly, Nancy Pelosi fails to realize that this is important to the American people.

Pelosi’s disdain for President Trump created moments that shouldn’t be forgotten.

Nancy Pelosi fails to represent her constituents.

Let her stay in a standard office as she watches San Francisco continue to collapse from her party’s failed policies.

The strength of the move gives the Republicans a small win with bigger ones to follow.
