Here’s A List Of All The Democrats Calling For Bob Menendez To Resign

A growing number of Democrats are calling upon Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) to resign following charges of corruption.

WLTR previously reported that the Senator was facing criminal charges for allegedly accepting gold bars valued at $400,000 in exchange for using his influence to secure legal favors.

Now, a growing list of 15 Democrats have come forward to call for the resignation of Menendez.

Earlier on Tuesday, Charlie Kirk reported: “Senator Menendez is currently refusing to step aside, claiming he’s being targeted by the DOJ because he’s Hispanic.”

C-SPAN reported that Menendez was quick to respond to calls for his resignation: “Sen. Bob Menendez (D) says he won’t resign because he’s innocent to a group of reporters. More than 15 senators have called for his resignation after being federally indicted.”

The Epoch Times provided the names of the Democrat lawmakers calling for Menendez’s resignation:

Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), called for his resignation on Tuesday.

Other Senate Democrats joining the chorus of voices calling for Mr. Menendez to step down included Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), Bob Casey (D-Pa.), Jon Tester (D-Mont.), Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), and Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.).

More calls, later on Tuesday, came from Sens. Edward Markey (D-Mass.), Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.), Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii), Kristen Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) and Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.).

AOC recently told Face The Nation: “It shouldn’t matter whether it’s a Republican or a Democrat. The details in this indictment are extremely serious,” she said of Menendez.

Citizen Free Press shared this video of Menendez; when confronted by reporters the Democrat lawmaker claimed: “I’m innocent! What’s wrong with you guys?”

Breitbart provided this statement from Senator Cory Booker, who urged Menendez to step down:

“Stepping down is not an admission of guilt but an acknowledgment that holding public office often demands tremendous sacrifices at great personal cost.”

Senator Menendez has made these sacrifices in the past to serve.

And in this case he must do so again. I believe stepping down is best for those Senator Menendez has spent his life serving.”
