17 People Taken to Hospital During Pittsburgh Concert, Two Cardiac Arrests

17 people were taken to the hospital, including a stadium staffer and EMT, during the Ed Sheeran concert in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Saturday night.

Two individuals reportedly went into cardiac arrest, and the Pittsburgh Bureau of EMS received 37 calls for services during the concert.

The concert was at Acrisure Stadium, an outdoor venue home to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“Pittsburgh was in the low 80s dropping into the upper 70s around the time of the concert,” WTAJ reports.

According to the Irish Star, the stadium staffer and EMT suffered cardiac arrest.

The worker took unwell when they were tearing down the setup inside the stadium. They went into cardiac arrest on the floor.

Thankfully, numerous crews sprung into action, and the patient was treated and taken to Allegheny General Hospital, where their condition is understood to be stable.

A paramedic from an outside agency also went into cardiac arrest on Art Rooney Avenue while leaving the venue. They were tended to immediately by surrounding personnel, and were resuscitated after receiving several shocks.

WTAJ reports:

While leaving the facility, one of the paramedics went into cardiac arrest. They were reportedly resuscitated after several shocks and taken to AGH as well.

Other people transported suffered heat-related issues and/or falls with one person reportedly having a seizure.

“Had a great time playing Pittsburgh last night, my biggest show I’ve ever played there. Really enjoyed all the dancing, and all the emotional moments. And also my terrible towel!” Ed Sheeran wrote on Instagram Sunday.
