Parent Company To Ditch CNN?

This story really showcases how terrible things are at CNN right now. …

Amid plummeting ratings, a failing business model, a lack of consumer trust, and numerous scandals, CNN’s parent company, Warner Bros Entertainment, is thinking of selling the company next year.

This would be the equivalent of selling a retail giant right before the Q4 holiday season. …

Niko House points out “CNN sucks so Warner Bros is likely about to have to sell them right before election season, which is their most profitable season. Now I know why they’re so mad at Tucker Carlson.”

Breitbart and others are reporting that former CNN head Jeff Zucker will likely place a bid to buy the ailing network if Warner Bros decides to part ways with the cable news giant.

The New York Post had more on the potential sale of CNN:

Sources say Zucker sees a big opportunity at CNN ahead of the 2024 presidential election after ex-CEO Chris Licht’s strategy to revamp the network’s programming to appeal to a more centrist audience flopped, sending ratings and ad revenue tumbling.

“Jeff is likely going to make a bid this fall to purchase,” said a source with knowledge.

People who know Zucker add that buying and running CNN again would be the exec’s “ultimate revenge” after his untimely exit from the network early last year, in which he was also accused of overly cozy ties with disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

One user wonders if Rumble could potentially buy CNN, but is buying legacy media outlets a good idea at this point? What do they have to offer in the age of the internet?

Breitbart notes the lackluster performance of the struggling news network:

Bankers estimate CNN would sell for between $5 and $6 billion, despite bringing in around $500 million less profit last year than the year before.
