JUST IN: Criminal Illegal Alien ARRESTED In Virginia After Trying to Steal Officer’s Gun

A violent illegal alien in Virginia has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a police officer and trying to take his gun.

Nehemia Noel Fuentes-Banegas from Honduras was shot by the officer in self-defense before being taken to the hospital, and then subsequently jailed.

This dangerous illegal immigrant was let into our country under the Biden administration in 2022.

Now, ICE has filed a detainer to stop Fuentes-Banegas from being released back onto the streets.

Reporter Nick Minock broke the news in a video clip:

Later, Homeland Security confirmed:

The violent altercation occurred after police officers responded to a domestic violence call involving a man wielding knives.

Fox News shared more details of the incident that led up to the arrest:

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), officers responded to a report of a man who left a home in Annandale following an argument while allegedly armed with two knives.

Fairfax County police said the man also stabbed himself before leaving the residence and fleeing into a nearby wooded area.

As officers searched a wooded area, Fuentes-Banegas allegedly emerged from the brush, grabbed an officer’s firearm and attempted to disarm the officer, DHS said.

Fairfax County police said one officer fired his service weapon while a second officer simultaneously deployed a department-issued Taser. The bullet grazed Fuentes-Banegas’ shoulder, police said.

Fuentes-Banegas was arrested and charged with attempted disarming of a law enforcement officer. ICE has lodged a detainer requesting that Fairfax County notify federal authorities before his release.

According to DHS, Fuentes-Banegas entered the United States illegally through Texas in 2022 and was later released under the Biden administration.

As it turns out, this isn’t Fuentes-Banegas’ first run-in with the law.

He has a lengthy record of driving recklessly and without a license:

It’s ridiculous that this hooligan wasn’t deported from our country a long time ago.

But, under the state’s new far-left Gov. Abigail Spanberger, criminal illegal aliens like Fuentes-Banegas have been allowed to run wild.

A DHS press release detailed further:

“This criminal illegal alien from Honduras attacked a law enforcement officer and attempted to take the officer’s gun,” said Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. “He has now been charged with attempted disarming of a law enforcement officer. ICE is calling on Governor Abigail Spanberger and her fellow sanctuary politicians to commit to not releasing this dangerous criminal from jail. Governor Spanberger’s sanctuary policies have made the Commonwealth a magnet for illegal alien crime.”

Fuentes-Banegas illegally entered the United States through Texas in 2022. The Biden Administration then RELEASED him into the country.

During her first days in office, Governor Spanberger signed executive orders banning state cooperation with ICE as well as terminating 287(g) state and local agreements.

Under Governor Spanberger, Virginia has become a hotbed of illegal alien crime. Some of the recent illegal alien crimes in the sanctuary state include:
