California Reparations Shot Down By The Unlikeliest Of Figures…

I want to begin this article by saying that no one is responsible for the sins of the father—no one alive today is responsible for, nor was the subject of slavery.

Moreover, slavery was a human universality—until sometime in the early-mid 20th century, and in some parts of the world, it still goes on today.

Still, this has not stopped those clamoring for power—socialists, communists, and leftists from playing the race card in an attempt to grab power and riches.

California has long been home to the most insane leftist nonsense in the country and their recent push for reparations, at the behest of California Governor Gavin Newsom, is emblematic of poor blue-state policies.

Those who were paying attention saw unrealistic and unhinged demands, among the most radical of the proposals was $200 million for every black person:

California’s reparations task force ultimately settled on a tidy sum of $1.2 million for every single black individual who qualified under their subjective list of criteria.

Unfortunately for them, that proposal has been rejected by none other than California Governor Gavin Newsom—the one who set up the task force in the first place…

Conservative pundit Larry Elder writes:

Daily Mail confirmed:

Gavin Newsom said on Tuesday he felt there were better ways of addressing systemic inequality than cash handouts.

Newsom said dealing with the legacy of slavery and discrimination is ‘about much more than cash payments.’

He told Fox News in a statement on Tuesday: ‘Many of the recommendations put forward by the task force are critical action items we’ve already been hard at work addressing: breaking down barriers to vote, bolstering resources to address hate, enacting sweeping law enforcement and justice reforms to build trust and safety, strengthening economic mobility — all while investing billions to root out disparities and improve equity in housing, education, healthcare, and well beyond.

‘This work must continue.’

Breitbart notes:

The slavery reparation panel had been tasked with figuring out exactly how much California — which joined the Union as a free state in 1850 — owes its black residents, with estimates previously rising as high as $800 billion, nearly three times the state’s total annual budget.
