"Good evening," Carlson tweeted with his attached video.

At the time of writing, Carlson's tweet has garnered 74.6 million views.

The ratings are in for Tucker Carlson's first monologue away from Fox News.

Carlson didn't just blow away Fox News.

He obliterated all cable news shows COMBINED.

While Carlson's Twitter monologue had 72.7 million views, cable news combined tallied 53.1 million views.

Chief Nerd shared the data.

Mediaite reported:

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes won the 8 p.m. hour on cable news Wednesday night. Hayes’s win comes on the heels of Monday’s firing of Tucker Carlson — who long reigned during the hour.

Hayes beat Carlson’s temporary replacement, Brian Kilmeade, with 1.38 million total viewers to 1.33 million viewers.

Kilmeade’s two recent programs have struggled to retain all of Carlson’s audience in prime time. Where Carlson averaged 3.25 million total viewers and 443,000 viewers in the key 25-54 age demographic last quarter, Kilmeade’s Wednesday night show brought in only 1.7 million viewers and 149,000 demo viewers – which landed the network behind both CNN and MSNBC in the demo.

Kilmeade did still manage to double Anderson Cooper, who landed in third place for the hour.

Hayes did not have the top rated show on MSNBC, however. That distinction went to Ari Melber, whose 6 p.m. program The Beat drew 1.56 million viewers overall and 175,000 in the demo, edging out Fox in the latter category.

Overall, Fox News won prime time in total viewers beating MSNBC with 1.49 million to 1.34 million total viewers. However, MSNBC won in the prime time demo, for the second time this week, with 153,000 viewers to Fox’s 146,000.

Notably, the hours before and after Carlson’s old show on Fox News were also significantly down in viewership. Notably, Rachel Campos-Duffy guest hosted for Jesse Watters at 7 p.m.

With Tucker Carlson destroying the mainstream media by himself, it's another indicator that legacy media is dying a slow, painful death.

They're gradually losing the trust of more and more Americans.

Independent journalism is on the rise and mainstream outlets will soon be a thing of the past.

"Independent Journalism is the news now, and Twitter is the medium. MSM rendered obsolete," WarClandestine wrote.

Mainstream journalists faced further vitriol this week when citizen journalist Jose Vega confronted editors of The New York Times, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and Reuters for their past lies.
