WATCH: Jill Biden Makes Laughable Claim That The Media Was TOO TOUGH On Her Husband

After four years of dutifully turning a blind eye to the cognitive decline fully on display during Joe Biden’s presidency, the media is once again playing doctor with breathless reports about President Donald Trump’s supposed maladies.

But to hear Jill Biden tell it, the double standard actually played out the other way around, with her husband getting the short end of the media’s stick.

Here’s what The Hill reported:

Former first lady Jill Biden accused the media of applying a “double standard” in its coverage of her husband, former President Biden, when compared with President Trump.

While promoting her memoir last month, the former first lady was asked during a Q&A session about media coverage during her husband’s presidency. She said the former president would have been “excoriated” had he been responsible for much of what is happening under the current administration.

“You know, if Joe would have done any one of the things that are occurring now, I mean he would have been excoriated,” she told “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg, who moderated the discussion.

“But, you know, it’s just there, it’s like there’s a double standard. And that I don’t think is fair or was fair,” Biden added.

Her questionable grasp on reality fueled some social media backlash:

Biden also pushed back on Democratic critics of her memoir who have said the book needlessly dredged up controversies from the 2024 election.

During a Washington, D.C., book event in early June, Biden was asked specifically about comments from former Biden White House spokesman Andrew Bates, who said of her book, “I don’t see why that painful conversation for the party needed to be publicly reopened right now,” according to the New York Post.

“I want to say to Andrew: Call me up, and say it to my face, buddy,” Biden responded, arguing that her book had only “one chapter on politics.”
