President Donald Trump’s critics apparently didn’t learn their lesson during his first term, when every attempt to impeach or prosecute him only seemed to make him more popular with his base.
The latest murmurs of impeachment came in response to a speech the president gave this week about election interference.
For Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA), the mere mention of efforts to secure the nation’s elections is enough to warrant swift action … at least if Trump is involved.
As The Hill reported:
“Trump must be impeached for undermining and subverting our free and fair elections,” Markey declared on the social platform X.
“And when he sends ICE agents to the polls, then we must turn civic action into civil disobedience and take to the streets. Sit in. Protest. Withhold our labor. Everything must be on the table,” Markey urged.
Trump earlier Thursday evening said that newly released documents show that during a period of five years starting during the 2020 election cycle, the Chinese government acquired 220 million U.S. voter files.
His comment sparked widespread backlash:
You're an idiot. You stad for open borders, soft on crime, anti Israel stances a d believe there's more than two. sexes. The Democrats are nonsense

It sounds like the Communist election fraud denier Markey is calling for insurrection against the United States. When is Blanche and Patel going to arrest him for that? We are waiting.

He released documents that were written by the intelligence community, some going back 5+ years. They would have eventually been released anyways, what is the problem with knowing we have clear issues that need fixing?

Of course, this isn’t the first time Markey has used such heated rhetoric, as CBS News reported a few months ago:
Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey is calling on Congress to impeach President Trump and remove him from office after the president posted that “a whole civilization will die” if Iran does not meet his Tuesday night deadline for a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
“He is completely unstable and dangerous,” Markey said in a social media video.
Markey says the House of Representatives must immediately impeach Mr. Trump, and then the Senate should remove him from office.
“Impeachment is the top priority,” Markey said. “No more war criminal in the White House.”
“This is the most reckless statement that any president has ever uttered and we are only a couple of hours from him absolutely committing a genocide,” Markey told WBZ-TV in a subsequent interview about his call for impeachment.
