If his critics thought getting the ax from CNN would be the end of Don Lemon, he’s determined to prove them wrong.
After making a few headlines for his antics since leaving the cable news network, Lemon is now looking ahead to what he says is a possible presidential run.
According to the New York Post:
Lemon made the eyebrow-raising declaration on “Can’t Be Censored” podcast hosted by Karman Wong and Travis Dhanraj, insisting that everyone wants to know if he has White House aspirations.
ADVERTISEMENT“Do you have political ambition? Is that true?” Dhanraj asked on Wednesday’s show.
“No, but people keep asking me if I’m running for president,” Lemon answered.
“And I don’t know. I might. I’m serious. I don’t know. I might, because people keep asking me to do it, or if I’m going to do it.”
Lemon, 60, argued that experience isn’t necessarily a requirement to be commander-in-chief, citing President Trump’s lack of a political background before his election win in 2016.
Of course, the polarizing pundit’s puffery fueled some social media backlash:

Don Lemon got fired from CNN, stormed into a church with far-left activists, and concluded the obvious next step was the Oval Office.

If people ask you to shut up will you do it.

Fox News added these details:
“For the people to want me. What it would take is if I ran a political campaign, a presidential campaign, I would like to run it, and I don’t know if this is realistic or not, without having to beg for money. I would like it to be a voter-citizen-driven campaign for as much as it can be. Maybe at some point I might have to take a donation. I would rather not do that, but I would rather the people of the United States to say, ‘That’s the guy that we want. I’m gonna give him five dollars or $10’ or something that doesn’t break the bank because I know that the economy is tough,” Lemon said.
Lemon criticized President Donald Trump and argued he was “not doing a great job for the working-class people, for the American economy.”
The former CNN host said Trump’s economic policies only benefited the rich and people who happen to have 401(k)s.
And here’s a clip:
Don Lemon says he is “seriously” weighing a run for president and insists he’d be “really good” at it.
DON LEMON: “I actually think I would be a really good president of the United States.”
