War Secretary Pete Hegseth has enacted a series of new programs aimed at elevating the physical standards for America’s servicemembers.
He announced one such measure this week, explaining that troops will now have their testosterone levels tracked and, if needed, adjusted.
As The Hill reported, Hegseth cited a number of benefits in a social media post explaining the initiative:
“While we invest heavily in our weapon systems, platforms and gear, our most decisive tactical advantage will always be the individual warfighter,” Hegseth said. “We have a sacred duty to maintain that advantage, which is why we must constantly look for new ways to optimize your performance, your resilience and your long-term health.”
ADVERTISEMENTThe Pentagon chief authorized the new screening program to ensure troops “have the right testosterone levels to operate at [their] absolute best because it’s well-established science that as we age, testosterone levels often naturally drop,” he said.
Should treatment be recommended following the test, service members have the choice to receive TRT.
Here’s some of the support his announcement received:

Can we get this program for some of our eunuch senators?

Pleasant surprise, but very much necessary. Hormonal optimization is a core pillar of health that is foundational to everything else.
Good for them, and hopefully this isn’t turned into some political argument.

Newsweek added these details:
Hegseth described the initiative as a health program rather than an effort to artificially boost military performance.
“This initiative, it’s not about artificial enhancement,” he said. “It’s about restoring and optimizing your natural capabilities, protecting your longevity, ensuring you have the biological foundation required to sustain the fight.”
“The modern battlefield is brutal and unrelenting,” Hegseth continued. “It requires and demands maximum psychological and mental readiness, and by addressing these health markers early, we’re keeping you on the leading edge of lethality.”
