Bill O’Reilly Calls Peace Talks Between The United States And Iran A “Farce”

This is a political commentator whose name I haven’t heard in a while.

Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly doesn’t believe the United States current peace talks with Iran will be successful.

The longtime political commentator, while appearing on News Nation, said the current negotiations between the U.S. and Iran are a farce.

O’Reilly later concluded that the only way to end the conflict is by the U.S. hitting Iran hard.

The Hill provided O’Reilly’s full remarks:

Political commentator Bill O’Reilly on Wednesday dismissed peace talks between the U.S. and Iran as a “farce,” as the two sides resumed strikes this week.

“The negotiations are a farce. Everybody knows it, [the] American public knows it,” O’Reilly told host Leland Vittert on NewsNation’s “On Balance.”

The U.S. launched strikes on Iran earlier this week in response to Iranian forces shooting down an American Apache helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. forces used drones to rescue the two crew members, who were in stable condition as of Tuesday.

President Trump said Wednesday that Iranian officials have “taken too long” in negotiations and “will have to pay the price,” after repeatedly claiming in recent months that the U.S. and Iran were close to a deal.

On Thursday, the president warned of further strikes on the Islamic Republic and added that the U.S. will seize Kharg Island, a key Iranian oil depot.

“The United States will be hitting Iran (Whose Navy, Air Force, Radar, Anti Aircraft, and all other forms of Defense, together with most of its offensive capability, are GONE!), VERY HARD TONIGHT,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

O’Reilly said Wednesday that if the president “wants his legacy to remain intact” and bring a lasting end to the war, there is no other “alternative” besides additional strikes.

“You got to hit them very, very hard with your military,” he told Vittert. “So, I’ve been thinking about it, is there another way? There isn’t another way.”

President Trump, however, has a completely different outlook on the talks with Iran.

Fox News reported that, during a tele-rally for Georgia Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, Trump declared the war with Iran is over:

President Donald Trump declared Thursday that the conflict with Iran has ended, telling supporters during a tele-rally for Georgia Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, a Republican candidate for governor, that Tehran has agreed to forgo nuclear weapons.

Addressing voters ahead of Tuesday’s Georgia runoff election, Trump pointed to the Iran negotiations as one of the administration’s latest foreign policy achievements.

“I don’t know if you heard, but we ended the war with Iran today, and they have agreed never to have a nuclear weapon, something that we insisted on,” Trump said. “That was the whole purpose.”

The president added that preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon was “95%” of the reason behind the administration’s pressure campaign against Tehran.

Jones echoed Trump’s optimism about the negotiations, thanking the president for his handling of the situation.

“Thank you, Mr. President, and thank you for all your hard work on the Iran situation,” Jones said. “I know you’re glad to get that settled, and we appreciate all that you do for this country.”
