Blue State Governor Proclaims Democrats ‘Don’t Need Any Of The Men’

Recent trends have shown that, while many women have been enchanted by the Democratic Party’s lurch leftward, many men have gravitated toward the GOP in recent years.

For some Democrats, that might be a sign to expand the party’s message and, as the left loves to insist it already is, actually become “inclusive.”

But that’s certainly not the approach of New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.

As the Daily Caller reported, she spoke at a marathon meeting of the Democratic National Committee and doubled down on embracing the female vote at the expense of every man in the country:

The 7-hour-long meeting allowed state leaders to present their case to the committee regarding which states should be granted an “early window” status in the 2028 presidential nominating calendar.

Although a staff member admitted that Democrats are “losing their share of the electorate” in New Mexico, Gov. Grisham followed up by arguing that the party only needed female votes to be “good” in the election.

“If women — Democratic women — just show up and vote, we’re good. We don’t need any of the men,” Grisham said.

A New Mexico official remarked immediately before Grisham on the state’s strength in female Democratic voters. “We have more women and women of color elected in New Mexico than anywhere else in the country. We have the most female legislature,” she said.

Obviously, such a platform would be a recipe for becoming a permanent minority party in the US, since millions of conservative women won’t support the Democrats no matter how much pandering they receive.

And Grisham’s opinion was roundly ridiculed on social media:

As a woman I am extremely tired of the war on men and boys. Empowering women is not the same thing as trampling men. Decades of social engineering telling men they are trash in general and especially so if they happen to be white and the end result is what? Men cannot make themselves small enough and effeminate enough to please the radical liberals that now run the Democrat party.

The truth is we do need men. It’s not a competition, it never was. That’s just the lie meant to distract and divide. We should be empowering and celebrating both sexes and teaching our youth to enjoy and be proud of the things that are unique to each and to appreciate the other.

Several months ago, The Hill provided this breakdown of how rapidly men are fleeing the Democratic Party:

The party’s latest efforts to woo men are almost painful to watch. The Democratic National Committee has poured money into influencer partnerships, podcast cameos and clumsy “masculinity” campaigns filmed in gyms. Spokespersons drone on about “kitchen-table issues,” as if men are sitting there waiting to be emotionally validated between spoonfuls of reheated stew.

None of it works because it isn’t real. Men don’t want to be sold to. They want to be spoken to. The problem isn’t packaging but posture. A party that has spent years pathologizing masculinity can’t expect gratitude from the men it has spent so long diagnosing.

There was a time when Democrats didn’t need to perform masculinity because they personified it. Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman and John Kennedy all spoke the language of strength, duty and sacrifice. Even Bill Clinton, for all his flaws, employed charisma as a form of command. Barack Obama combined intellect with authority. These were men who carried themselves with a quiet confidence that others respected because they aspired to it.
