HORRIFIC: Five Dead After Non-English Speaking Bus Driver Crashes on Virginia Highway

This is equally sad and infuriating.

More innocent American lives have been lost in a fatal accident caused by a non-English speaking, foreign bus driver.

In the early morning hours on Friday, a bus slammed into multiple cars near a work zone on Interstate 95 in Virginia.

Five people were killed, including two children.

In addition, dozens of other people were severely injured and taken to the hospital.

It turns out that the driver of the bus was a naturalized U.S. citizen from China who doesn’t speak a lick of English!

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy broke down the tragic details in a statement posted on X:

Update on the tragic bus crash in Virginia:

Five people are dead, including a 13-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, after the driver of a motorcoach slammed into stopped traffic on I-95.

@FMCSA Administrator Derek Barrs and our investigators are on the ground at the crash site working with the @NTSB.

Local police confirm the driver of this motorcoach — a man from China who became a U.S. citizen — doesn’t speak English. He received his commercial drivers license from New York State in 2024.

Unacceptable. This is exactly why we are holding states’ accountable, enforcing the rules of the road, and cracking down on drivers who can’t speak English.

If you can’t be properly trained, read our road signs, or communicate with law enforcement, you have no business driving a bus.

Our investigators are reviewing New York licensing records, training documentation, and the driver’s history. Any company, trainer, or school that contributed to putting an unqualified driver on the road will face intense scrutiny.

We’ll share more updates soon.

My prayers are with the loved ones of the innocent lives lost and those who were hurt in this horrific crime.

The bus driver has been identified as 48-year-old Jing S. Dong from New York.

Reportedly, he failed to slow for traffic in a work zone as the cars around him did, instead plowing right through.

CBS News has more:

The accident took place at about 2:35 a.m. ET in Stafford County when a bus, operated by E&P Travel, was heading from New York City to Charlotte, North Carolina.

The bus “failed to slow for traffic” and crashed into six vehicles, state police said. The bus first struck a Chevrolet Suburban, which then hit an Acura SUV and additional vehicles. Four people in the Acura were killed, along with one person in the Suburban.

The four people killed in the Acura, which caught fire after the collision, were identified as a 45-year-old man, a 44-year-old woman, a 13-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, state police said. All four were from Greenfield, Massachusetts.

The victim from the Suburban was identified as a 25-year-old woman from Worcester, Massachusetts, state police said. No names were immediately released.

In addition to the deaths, 44 people were taken to the hospital, police said.

State police identified the driver of the bus, who was also injured, as 48-year-old Jing S. Dong of Staten Island, New York.

“Charges are pending against” Dong, state police said, adding that investigators are “looking into the bus driver’s actions prior to the crash.” No further details were provided.

Benny Johnson shared a few more photos from the scene of the terrible crash:

Five innocent people are dead in Virginia.

Among them a 13 year old girl. A 7 year old boy.

They were killed when a bus slammed into stopped traffic.

The driver was an immigrant from China who does not speak English.

Can’t read road signs. Can’t communicate with law enforcement.

New York State gave him a commercial license anyway.

Democrat-run states handing out CDLs to unqualified drivers need to be held accountable.

The federal government is now investigating New York’s licensing records.

It’s long overdue.

Praying for the victims and their families. 🙏🏻🇺🇸

How is it that someone who doesn’t even understand enough English to read road signs is able to get a license to drive a bus?

Frankly, the very idea is baffling.

But, it’s disturbingly common in New York.

In fact, last month, Secretary Duffy revealed that over half of the CDLs granted to foreigners were issued illegally. Yet, New York has refused to audit any of the licenses!

In response to New York’s refusal, the Transportation Department has already pulled a massive amount of funding from the state.

At the time of that announcement, Secretary Duffy threatened to ban New York from issuing commercial driver’s licenses, as well.

For reference, here’s that clip:

JUST NOW: Trump Transportation Sec. Sean Duffy CONFIRMS that a bus crash in Virginia resulting in 5 deaths, including little children, was caused by a CHINESE NATIONAL WHO DOESN’T SPEAK ENGLISH

And NEW YORK gave him the CDL

Absolutely maddening. BAN NY FROM GIVING CDLS!

DUFFY: “Five people are dead, including a 13-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, after the driver of a motorcoach slammed into stopped traffic on I-95.”

“Local police confirm the driver of this motorcoach — a man from China who became a U.S. citizen — doesn’t speak English. He received his commercial drivers license from New York State in 2024.”

“Our investigators are reviewing New York licensing records, training documentation, and the driver’s history. Any company, trainer, or school that contributed to putting an unqualified driver on the road will face intense scrutiny.”

Duffy recently revealed 53% PERCENT of NY licenses were given out to foreigners illegally.

Lay the hammer!

In light of this recent accident in Virginia, it may be time to follow through with that threat…

What do you think?

Should New York be banned from giving out CDLs until they comply?
