News of a routine health checkup this week fueled speculation among President Donald Trump’s rivals that he had been hiding some mysterious medical malady.
But after he left Walter Reed Medical Center on Tuesday, the president quickly put any such rumors to rest.
As The Hill reported:
“Just finished my 6 month physical at Walter Reed Military Medical Center. Everything checked out PERFECTLY. Thank you to the great Doctors and Staff!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
ADVERTISEMENTTrump, 79, underwent a “routine” assessment as part of his “regular preventative health care,” the White House said.
A memo of the exam results is typically sent out by the White House, but there’s been no details on when that will be released.
Questions have been raised about the president’s health during his second term. Trump turns 80 next month and is the oldest person to be elected president.
News of the examination quickly spread via social media:

Here’s some additional coverage from KVAL:
“President Trump is the sharpest and most accessible President in American history who is working nonstop to solve problems and deliver on his promises, and he remains in excellent health,” White House spokesperson Davis Ingle said in a statement.
Ahead of the appointment, Trump joked that he feels the same as he did decades ago despite admitting he does little exercise and does not follow a particularly healthy diet.
“I feel literally the same,” he said. “I don’t know why. It’s not because I eat the best foods.”
Following an annual physical in April 2025, Trump’s physician, Navy Capt. Sean Barbabella, said the president was “fully fit” to serve as commander in chief and noted he was 20 pounds lighter than during a 2020 checkup that showed him bordering on obesity.
And here’s some footage of the president en route to Walter Reed:
