This is a developing story.
Law enforcement is responding after reports of gunfire near the North Lawn of the White House this evening.
ABC News reporter Selina Wang was in the middle of filming a segment when the gunshots rang out.
She and her crew immediately ducked down when they became aware of what was going on.

Secret Service jumped into action and rushed members of the press inside.
President Trump is at the White House today.
Thankfully, he was already safely inside when the shots rang out, and there are no reported injuries at this time.

Secret Service snipers have also been spotted on the White House roof.

At this time, we don’t have a lot of details on what happened.
The White House has been placed on lockdown.
FBI Director Kash Patel says that his agents and Secret Service are working together to investigate the scene:

CBS News has the latest update on the situation:
What sounded like possible gunfire was heard near the North Lawn of the White House Saturday evening, multiple CBS News reporters said.
Approximately 20 shots were heard just after 6 p.m. Eastern Time. They appeared to be coming from the side of the White House complex containing the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, the reporters said.
U.S. Secret Service then ushered media members inside the White House.
