A Texas Democrat with her sights set on Congress is heading towards a runoff election.
And in her own words, she wants ‘American Zionists’ and ‘former ICE Officers’ to head somewhere else — PRISON.
Her fiery campaign rhetoric of anti-establishment leftism would normally ring in perfect harmony with the actual Congressional ‘Squad’ crew.
But Democrat Maureen Galindo’s remarks have even some of her natural political allies drawing the line, which is really saying something!
Here’s the story.
She is running for a Congressional House seat in the newly redrawn 35th district in Texas, and she’s headed towards a runoff election against another Democrat — Johnny Garcia.
A few days ago she took to Instagram with a post that riled almost EVERYONE up. (And quite honestly, left many a little confused — including me!)

The confusing part isn’t that a far-left Democrat would argue for locking up ICE Agents.
Or even that she is focusing on imprisoning ‘American Zionists’.
The wild part is that Maureen Galindo made those statements apparently as part of a REBUTAL against accusations (here’s where it gets confusing…) that she wants to put ‘Jews & Mexicans in warehouses’.
And, yes… I’m STILL confused.
Full disclosure up front. I do not have all the answers surrounding this story.
In fact, the more I dig, the more questions I have!
The Democrat who is hoping to defeat Galindo in the upcoming runoff election threw out the original ‘Jews & Mexicans in warehouses’ accusation, which prompted Galindo’s pushback post.
And then? (This is another point where things get confusing…)
The ex-sex therapist — yes, you heard me — attempted to defend herself, partly by claiming her accuser was actually getting PAID to lock up ‘Jews and Mexicans’ (…he’s a former Deputy Sheriff…), according to this from the New York Post:
The top Democrat in a southern Texas House race, sex therapist Maureen Galindo, has called for transforming an immigration facility into a “prison for American Zionists” equipped with a castration center.
ADVERTISEMENTGalindo’s campaign made a vile pledge that she will introduce legislation to that effect if she gets elected to Congress after baselessly alleging her Dem runoff foe was “being paid to put Jews and Mexicans in concentration camps via Zionist trafficking networks.”
Karnes Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Detention Center has long been subject to protest activity from the progressive left.
Oddly, Galindo’s campaign made the comments while trying to dispute primary foe Johnny Garcia’s claims that she wants to put Jews in warehouses.
Yet her remarks about dumping Zionists into an ICE facility sound a lot like putting Jews in warehouses.
Galindo was the top Democrat in the March primary election, with 29.2% support to Garcia’s 27%. Since no one got a majority, the two advanced to a runoff election next Tuesday. (Emphasis added – though it doesn’t decrease the confusion!)
Maureen Galindo’s remarks have stirred the pot so completely that even sitting DEMOCRATS in the US House are threatening to work on expelling her from Congress if she wins!
They say that they’ll push a vote EVERY DAY until they successfully kick their own party’s potential Representative out of Congress:

If for some reason, Maureen Galindo wins the Congressional election in TX-35, as soon as she is sworn in, we will force a vote to expel her every single day we are here. Maureen’s insane, antisemitic views – including putting Americans in concentration camps – have no place in our Party or country.
If this story wasn’t crazy and confusing enough already, it gets even more wild!
Yesterday, Maureen Galindo tried to backtrack and refute any nonsense about her desire to lock up Jews.
And she specified that she only wants “billionaire Zionists in prison”.
Okay, I’m still confused, but I can at least start to understand the framework of her thinking — even if I don’t agree with it.
But that’s not all!
Surrounding all of this controversy is the ADDED accusation that TEXAS REPUBLICANS are actually her primary financial backers, as reported by Newsweek:
Maureen Galindo, a Democratic congressional candidate in Texas, said she would turn an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center into a “prison for American Zionists” if she won.
The post has been criticized as antisemitic on both sides of the political aisle, including by Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, who called on voters to support Garcia.
On Monday, Galindo doubled down on her comments, saying in a video: “When I say that I want billionaire Zionists in prison, that does not mean I want Jews in internment camps. So why am I getting a whole bunch of death threats and MAGA insults?”
Several Democrats have alleged that a super PAC with ties to the Republican Party is funding more extreme Democratic candidates in an effort to create weaker general election opponents and help the GOP retain control of the House, The New York Times reported.
Ocasio-Cortez said of Galindo on X: “The donors behind the Republican super PAC funding her should be exposed.” (Emphasis added.)
So, besides the controversy surrounding her intent towards putting pro-Israel wealthy Americans into what can only be described as concentration camps…
We ALSO have Democrats who would generally agree with her on locking up former ICE agents now turning their backs on her — claiming that Republicans are funding her campaign to the tune of MILLIONS.
You know it’s bad when AOC takes to social media for an attack on a far-left Democrat candidate in Texas:

And AOC isn’t the only high-profile Democrat panicking over the boiling pot of chaos that Galindo has stirred up with her comments.

Is it also possible that Republicans are covertly funding a far-left Democrat against another Democrat in order to work the Texas primary system against Democrats?
Sure.
Is there any proof of that?
Nope — only accusations at this time. And they all sound oddly familiar to the constant cacophony of “It’s the Republicans fault!” and the always popular “It’s Trump’s fault!”, if you ask me.
It’s primary runoff season in Texas, y’all.
