"He was a bad guy. He deserves to lose,” President Trump told reporters when asked about Rep. Thomas Massie's defeat in Kentucky.
Massie is the latest incumbent Republican to fall in a primary to a challenger endorsed by President Trump, who backed Ed Gallrein in Kentucky's 4th Congressional District Republican primary.
Over the last few days, President Trump railed against Rep. Massie, labeling him the "worst Congressman in history."

He also made a surprise return to X in order to blast Massie for a very scummy campaign move.

In the end, a very important lesson was learned today...
Never turn your back on President Trump and his base!
MAGA is loyal to President Trump, to the end. We stick together, and we win.
AP News reported further on the results of tonight's Kentucky primary and what led up to it:
Gallrein, a former Navy SEAL, ran on his military service and loyalty to the president and accused Massie of forsaking Trump and the party. He is favored to win the general election against Democrat Melissa Strange in the deeply red district.
Speaking with reporters after Massie’s defeat, Trump said: “He was a bad guy. He deserves to lose.” And White House communications director Steven Cheung said via social media: “Do not ever doubt President Trump and his political power.”
ADVERTISEMENTThe primary turned white hot in the final stretch of the campaign as Massie recruited a phalanx of other Republicans, including Rep. Lauren Boebert, in an attempt to show voters that a vote for him was not a vote against Trump. The president, in turn, ratcheted up his social media attacks, calling Massie “an obstructionist and a fool.” On Monday, Gallrein shared a stage with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
What are your thoughts?
Do you agree with President Trump that Rep. Massie deserved to lose?
