INTENSE: 30-Min Standoff as China BLOCKS Secret Service from President Trump

A number of ‘incidents’ are being reported by those traveling in China with President Trump.

At least once, the American press pool has been harassed by the Chinese ‘security’ — and caught on camera doing so.

I’ll have that footage down below as well.

But a far more serious incident played out today involving President Trump’s Secret Service protection detail.

Imagine the President’s literal bodyguards being DISARMED and prevented from protecting him on foreign soil, by foreign ‘security’ personnel.

At least one account of what happened has the Chinese thugs doing exactly that — TAKING the Secret Service Agent’s weapon, and refusing him access to President Trump’s entourage!

A correspondent for the French Press Agency (AFP) corroborated that account, which was shared by a correspondent from the Telegraph on X:

Connor Stringer with the Telegraph later alluded to ‘several times’ that the Chinese tried to split up President Trump’s motorcade:

Fox News’ Peter Doocy reported from Beijing that the clashes with Chinese police and members of the American delegation have been ongoing.

Here’s a clip of Doocy’s report earlier today in which he characterizes the incidents as both ‘heated’ and ‘physical’:

That specific incident erupted when President Trump and Xi were set to enter the so-called ‘Temple of Heaven’ in Beijing.

And the issue was that the Agent was armed… with a gun.

Imagine that!

That kicked off a 30-minute pause, while the ‘standoff’ between the President’s security and the Chinese goons played out.

And that wasn’t the first time President Trump’s security has encountered issues in China… according to this from Fox News:

Chinese security officials allegedly blocked an armed U.S. Secret Service agent from entering an event on Thursday during President Donald Trump’s visit to the country, according to media members on the ground.

Trump and Xi met Thursday in Beijing as part of a two-day state visit, with the White House saying the leaders discussed Iran, energy security, fentanyl controls and market access.

This is not the first time tensions have flared between the Secret Service and Chinese security officials.

During Trump’s 2017 visit, commotion was caused over the nuclear football, a briefcase that holds the tools for the president to order a nuclear strike, Axios first reported at the time.

Reports at the time said that when the U.S. military aide carrying the briefcase entered the Great Hall, Chinese security officials blocked his entry. The then-White House Chief of Staff John Kelly was notified and rushed over to escort the aide.

“We’re moving in,” Kelly said, according to Axios. A Chinese security official then grabbed Kelly, before a U.S. Secret Service agent grabbed that Chinese security official, and allegedly tackled him to the ground.

The U.S. Secret Service later denied the reports of “tackling” issuing a statement on X.

Correspondent Libbey Dean of News Nation shared an account by a New York Post reporter about the behind-the-scenes ‘skirmish’.

That account has the American delegation going on WITHOUT the Secret Service Agent.

And then the Chinese allegedly confiscated his service weapon:

Here’s the full text of Dean’s post on X:

“The next confrontation came in the afternoon at the Temple of Heaven, when Chinese officials refused to admit a Secret Service agent accompanying the presidential press pool into the secure area because the agent was carrying a firearm — standard practice for the protective agency.

The Chinese version of a Mexican standoff ensued, with the press pool and American delegation refusing to move forward without the agent and Beijing officials determined to take his sidearm.”

Goodin, the NYP reporter quoted by Libbey Dean above, highlighted multiple ‘incidents’ overall — including the details of the blocked Secret Service Agent — in her report for the New York Post:

The first incident came when an aggressive Chinese press pack charged into Trump’s morning bilateral meeting with Xi, knocking down and then stepping on a White House advance team member.

The aide was bruised and shaken, though not seriously injured, and the incident caused her colleagues to loudly protest the Chinese media’s behavior.

The next confrontation came in the afternoon at the Temple of Heaven, when Chinese officials refused to admit a Secret Service agent accompanying the presidential press pool into the secure area because the agent was carrying a firearm — standard practice for the protective agency.

The Chinese version of a Mexican standoff ensued, with the press pool and American delegation refusing to move forward without the agent and Beijing officials determined to take his sidearm.

After a 30-minute delay and many arguments, another Secret Service agent who had already been cleared to proceed was summoned to escort reporters inside while the first agent stayed behind.

I still can’t quite wrap my mind around a Secret Service Agent traveling in the President’s motorcade being BLOCKED from protecting the President!

But even the disrespectful (and dangerous!) way the press pool was routinely held up and frustrated from rejoining the motorcade is bad enough.

Here’s more on what happened to the press traveling as part of President Trump’s motorcade included in that previous article from the New York Post:

When the time came for Trump to depart, Chinese officials refused to allow the reporters to rejoin the presidential motorcade, prompting another round of loud arguments.

At one point amid the repeated cries of “we have to go,” a White House official told the Chinese the Trump administration would never treat them this way if the roles were reversed.

Finally, with Trump in the motorcade and waiting for the press, a White House staffer announced: “We are going.” That was the cue for the American contingent to push their way past the Chinese and run out the door.

As the group crossed the temple grounds to catch the motorcade, another set of Chinese officials tried to stop them, running with their arms out toward the group. But the Americans pressed on and reached the line of cars that made up the presidential convoy. (Emphasis added.)

That incident with the American press pool was caught on video.

Watch as the press is being held back by Chinese security as they watch President Trump’s motorcade prepare to depart — without them!

Finally, a member of the American delegation basically brings the situation to a close by telling the press “We are going”.

You can actually hear her REFERENCE the previous ‘incident’ from the article above — when the Chinese ran right over the White House official:

A sprint across the street…

Another attempted ‘shanghai’ by the Chinese goons on the way to rejoin the American delegation…

And the group eventually made it back to the President’s motorcade, which they had arrived with.

I’m still trying to figure out if the Chinese actually KEPT that Secret Service Agent’s gun — and whether or not he was eventually allowed to rejoin the motorcade.

There has been a lot of potentially GOOD news coming out of President Trump’s meeting with Xi — as we have reported, and will continue to do.

But at the street level, the President’s trip has rubbed at least a few Chinese security guys the wrong way.

We’ll keep tabs on the remainder of the President’s trip, and keep bringing you the story as it unfolds.
