In a surprising twist, President Trump just denied ABC reporter Jonathan Karl’s claim that POTUS called him after the White House Correspondents Dinner shooting to make sure he was okay.
Last week, Karl shared a heartwarming story about President Trump ringing him up early in the morning to check on his well-being.

What a sweet story.
There’s just one problem…it never happened!
In a post on Truth Social, President Trump blasted Karl’s claims as “dishonest reporting” and clarified that he did not call the reporter after the shooting.
Rather, Jon Karl was the one who called President Trump, and he didn’t pick up the call.

Jonathan Karl, of ABC Fake News, made a statement that I called him early in the morning, the day after the assassination attempt, to ask whether or not HE was OK. No, this was a hit on ME, not HIM, and I didn’t make such a call, why would I do that? He called me, but I didn’t take his call — He just confirmed that to me when he called again. I would say that’s very dishonest reporting. He’s trying to make himself look important but, I’m not surprised, because it comes from ABC Fake News! President DONALD J. TRUMP
When this story came out, I admittedly thought it was rather odd.
I mean, why would President Trump call up ABC News’ Jonathan Karl, of all people, after nearly being assassinated a third time?

It didn’t make a whole lot of sense, did it?
But now, President Trump’s account has cleared a lot of things up.
As it turns out, Karl’s “touching tale” was fake news to begin with!

On another note, you’ve got to give it to President Trump for choosing honesty here.
Unlike a lot of fake news spins, this one actually make President Trump look good!
Yet, still, President Trump opted to do the right thing by telling the truth.
At the time of writing this, Jonathan Karl has not responded to President Trump calling out his lies.
