House Democrat Accuses Hegseth Of War Crimes, Compares Him To Nazi Officer: ‘They Got Executed’

Less than a week after a gunman staged what was apparently intended to be a political assassination targeting President Donald Trump, the widespread calls for civility are clearly going unheeded by many on the Democrat side of the aisle on Capitol Hill.

One example of toxic partisan rhetoric emanating from the left involves US Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA), who let out a flurry of ad hominem attacks on Secretary of War Pete Hegseth during a recent CNN interview.

After claiming Hegseth is guilty of war crimes for carrying out the Trump administration’s operation in the Caribbean aimed at intercepting vessels being commanded by narco terrorists, Moulton went on to once again tap into a very familiar well to retrieve yet another Nazi comparison.

Here’s what Breitbart reported:

He added, “And on top of that, we then have the strike where they came back in and hit it again, a double tap, just purely to kill these survivors who were clinging to wreckage. You know, it’s interesting, Erin, another historical analogy back in World War II, the Allies tried Nazi submarine captains for doing this exact same thing. And guess what the conclusion was? They got executed.”

And here’s the relevant clip:

Hegseth and Moulton faced off on Capitol Hill this week, where the former dealt with a litany of leading questions about the scope of the military operation in Iran:

Here’s the full text of the post above:

Secretary Hegseth fires back at Democrat Rep. Seth Moulton for claiming the Iran conflict could drag on for 20 years like Iraq and Afghanistan.

Hegseth reminded Moulton he was a part of the forever wars he’s now warning about.

MOULTON: “If lets say this war costs $100 billion, I mean you’ve already said give us more time, it’s only been two months, it could go on for 20 years like Iraq and Afghanistan.”

“Let’s just say it costs $100 billion, what is that to the average American taxpayer? Do you have any idea?”

HEGSETH: “Well, UNLIKE foolish previous administrations it won’t go on for years and decades!”

“Sitting in this position, it’s hard to imagine how we allowed those things to happen.”

“YOU were a part of that war. So was I.”

The Hill also reported on Moulton’s cable news comments:

“I mean, he’s clearly behind the operation to shoot all these boats in the Caribbean when it’s very unclear that we actually have any confirmation that these so-called narco-terrorists, a term the administration invented to justify this action, are even on the boats. I mean, in fact, there‘s a lot of evidence that these are just fishermen, you know, getting jobs, piloting these boats, trying to feed their families,” Moulton told host Erin Burnett.

“There‘s been press reporting on some of these individuals who‘ve been killed who are clearly not war criminals,” he added.

CNN pundit Scott Jennings had this to say about the situation on his radio program:
