Prosecutors Dismiss Charges Against Woman Accused Of Soliciting Trump Ass*ssination

President Donald Trump has survived at least three serious assassination attempts, and countless others have taken similar plots beyond the daydreaming phase.

One such example appears to be a librarian in West Virginia who gained nationwide notoriety after posting a social media video interpreted as a thinly veiled call for someone to kill Trump.

Despite what many say was cut and dry evidence, however, prosecutors decided to set Morgan Morrow free and dismiss, without prejudice, a charge of making a terroristic threat.

The Daily Caller provided this report:

One of the videos Morrow posted featured a caption saying, “Surely a sniper with a terminal illness cannot be a big ask out of 343 million,” apparently was posted on Morrow’s Instagram, prompting Morrow’s arrest at 9:31 p.m. EDT on Jan. 25, hours after Libs of TikTok posted that video and others on X earlier that evening. However, prosecutors said in court documents that officers from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department failed to advise Morrow of her Miranda rights, according to WDTV.

Cole Allen, a 31-year-old teacher from Torrance, California, appeared in court Monday to face charges of attempting to assassinate Trump and using a firearm while committing a violent crime.

In addition to Allen’s attempt on Saturday, two assassins targeted Trump during the 2024 presidential campaign. Trump was struck in the right ear after Thomas Crooks fired multiple shots at him during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July 2024.

The case, including the latest development, have become fodder for social media discussions about the state of political discourse across the modern American left:

A West Virginia woman has been arrested after authorities say she tried to recruit people online to assassinate President Donald Trump.

According to investigators, Morgan L. Morrow, 39, allegedly posted messages on social media encouraging someone to kill the president, even suggesting that a “terminally ill sniper” should carry it out.

She has now been charged with making a terroristic threat and taken into custody.

Think about how far things have gone. Political disagreement is normal in America. But openly calling for the death of a president should never be normal.

Imagine if someone had posted something like this about Barack Obama or Joe Biden. The national outrage would be immediate—and rightly so. Violence is not the answer for any side.

Yes, threats against presidents have always existed. But the level of hostility and assassination attempts surrounding this presidency is unlike anything we’ve seen in modern American politics.

Regardless of where someone stands politically, we should all be able to agree on one thing:

Violence against political leaders is NOT how a republic survives. Our answer isn’t violence. Our answer isn’t hate.

Here are more details, per The Hill:

In the motion, the prosecutor said that Morrow was not properly read her Miranda rights during the interrogation.

“The prosecutor has made the judgment call that the statement that was given during the investigation by the defendant was not properly administered under our Miranda Rights,” said John Mitchell Jr., a Charleston criminal defense attorney.

A dismissal without prejudice does mean charges can be filed again, and there’s no statute of limitations on felonies in the state of West Virginia, but the county prosecutor could be stuck without the interrogation footage should he choose to proceed.

While Morrow might be walking free, a higher-profile case involving an alleged threat against Trump is just getting started:
