U.S. CENTCOM Releases Video Of U.S. Marines Boarding Seized Iranian Cargo Ship

U.S. CENTCOM has just released a new video of U.S. Marines boarding a seized Iranian cargo ship in the Gulf of Oman.

On Sunday, U.S. Marines seized an Iranian-flagged ship after the ship attempted to ignore the United States naval blockade.

Now, U.S. CENTCOM has released a video of Marines rappelling from a helicopter and boarding the ship that refused to abide by U.S. Forces’ commands as they attempted to enter the Strait of Hormuz.

WVTM reported more on the operation conducted by the Marines:

Footage released by U.S. Central Command shows U.S. Marines boarding an Iranian-flagged vessel that U.S. forces seized in the Gulf of Oman on Sunday.

The video shows U.S. Marines rappelling from a helicopter to board the Iranian commercial ship.

The ship had tried to evade the U.S. naval blockade near the Strait of Hormuz and “failed to comply with repeated warnings from U.S. forces over a six-hour period,” according to U.S. Central Command.

It was the first interception since the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports began last week.

Tehran has vowed to retaliate against U.S. forces, Iranian state news reported on Monday.

U.S. Marines depart amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli (LHA 7) by helicopter and transit over the Arabian Sea to board and seize M/V Touska. The Marines rappelled onto the Iranian-flagged vessel, April 19, after guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance (DDG 111) disabled Touska’s propulsion when the commercial ship failed to comply with repeated warnings from U.S. forces over a six-hour period.

U.S. CENTCOM later released another video that stated that since the blockade started, a total of 27 ships have been turned around:

The message is clear to Iran: do not test the U.S. Navy or Marines!
