U.S. Army Investigating After Apache Helicopters Fly Over Kid Rock’s Nashville Home

On Saturday, a pair of military helicopters flew low over the home of Kid Rock in Nashville, TN.

Now, the U.S. Army has launched an investigation.

Kid Rock posted a video of himself saluting the Apache helicopters, which were right outside of his 27,000-square-foot home — which is an exact replica of the White House!

Whatever the reason for the flight, it created a pretty epic scene.

The U.S. Army told CBS News that the helicopters were partaking in a training exercise:

The Army said Monday that it has launched a review after singer and rapper Kid Rock shared a video to social media that shows a pair of Apache helicopters flying outside of his Tennessee house, in what an Army official confirmed to CBS News was a training flight.

Maj. Montrell Russell, a spokesman for the Army, said in a statement the Army is aware of the video that shows AH-64 Apache helicopters operating near Kid Rock’s house, located near Nashville.

“Army aviators must adhere to strict safety standards, professionalism, and established flight regulations,” Russell said. “An administrative review is underway to assess the mission and verify compliance with regulations and airspace requirements. Appropriate action will be taken if any violations are found.”

Maj. Jonathon Bless, a spokesperson for the 101st Airborne Division, said the command has opened an investigation “to review the circumstances surrounding this activity.”

“The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell maintain strict standards for aviation safety, professionalism, and adherence to established flight regulations,” he said in a statement. “We take all concerns regarding aircraft operations and their impact on the surrounding community seriously.”

The two Apache helicopters were also spotted flying over a ‘No King’s’ protest that same day.

From News Channel 5 Nashville:

U.S. Army officials have ordered an investigation into the activities of two AH-64 Apache attack helicopters that flew over Saturday’s “No Kings” protest in downtown Nashville, then engaged in low-altitude maneuvers near the home of Kid Rock just north of the city.

The initial investigation appears to be focused, for now, on the maneuvers at the entertainer’s so-called “Southern White House” in the Nashville suburb of Whites Creek.

“Fort Campbell leadership is aware of a video circulating on social media depicting AH-64 Apache helicopters operating in the vicinity of a private residence associated with Mr. Robert Ritchie (also known as ‘Kid Rock’),” said a statement by Maj. Jonathon Bless, public affairs officer for the 101st Airborne Division.

“The command has initiated an investigation to review the circumstances surrounding this activity.”

Army officials later amended the statement, describing the probe as an “administrative review” rather than an “investigation.”
