President Trump Offers to Grant Asylum to Iranian Women’s Soccer Team

In an act of pure courage, the Iranian women’s soccer (or football as it’s known in other countries) team protested the Islamic regime during their Asian Cup opener.

The team refused to sing the Islamic Republic anthem before the game, and their head coach could be seen smiling as they stood in defiant silence.

Those are some incredibly brave women!

But, as you may have guessed, they royally ticked off the Islamic regime.

The regime quickly labeled the women as “unforgivable war-time traitors” and promised them severe punishment upon their return.

While in Australia, the team was seen making SOS signs from their bus as other Iranians tried to block off the bus.

Take a look:

As the bus carrying Iran’s women’s football team was leaving the stadium, the situation suddenly took a dramatic turn when from inside the bus the players began signaling “Help” in sign language.

This all started when they refused to sign the national anthem in their first game which prompted the regime to go on national TV the very next day and promise a “sever punishment” once they return, calling them “unforgivable wartime traitors”

Iranians quickly rushed to close the road and stop the bus from departing but the Australian security guards stepped in and forced us not to intervene.

Despite the threats these women are facing, Australia was going to send them back to Iran, anyways!

Leave it to President Trump to step in and make sure these courageous women don’t get killed for their actions…

Today, President Trump called on Australia to do the right thing and protect these women.

If they don’t, then President Trump offered to grant them asylum in America.

BREAKING: President Trump announces the US will GRANT ASYLUM to the Iranian Women’s Soccer team if Australia refuses to grant them safety

Trump believes they will be KILLED when they return home. The women were spotted standing up for their rights in Australia 🇺🇸🇮🇷

“Australia is making a terrible humanitarian mistake by allowing the Iran National Woman’s Soccer team to be forced back to Iran, where they will most likely be killed. Don’t do it, Mr. Prime Minister, give ASYLUM. The U.S. will take them if you won’t. Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP”

It appears that President Trump’s message to Australia is working.

He later shared an update, revealing that Australia is now giving the women asylum:

I just spoke to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, of Australia, concerning the Iranian National Women’s Soccer Team. He’s on it! Five have already been taken care of, and the rest are on their way. Some, however, feel they must go back because they are worried about the safety of their families, including threats to those family members if they don’t return. In any event, the Prime Minister is doing a very good job having to do with this rather delicate situation. God bless Australia! President DONALD J. TRUMP

These are the five women who have already been given refuge in Australia:

According to President Trump, all of the other Iranian team members who want it will also be kept safe.

Reuters has more:

Iran’s ‌semi-official Fars news agency said five players in Australia for the Asian Cup secretly left the team hotel with Australian police, and media reports said they were seeking Australian government assistance after “breaking free”.

After initially posting on social media that Australia was “making a terrible humanitarian mistake” by allowing the team to be sent back home, Trump said in a later post that he had spoken to Albanese and that the Australian leader was “doing a very good job having to do with this rather delicate situation”.

Trump said five members of the Iran squad “have already been taken care of, and the rest are on their way”.

“Some, however, feel they must go back because they are worried about the safety of their families, including threats to those family members if they don’t return,” he said.

Australia’s SBS News said five players from the Iranian women’s team were now under the protection of the Australian Federal Police, seeking assistance from the government. It said government sources had confirmed the reports, adding that Australia’s Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke had flown to Brisbane to meet with the women.

The Iranians’ campaign in the Australian-hosted Asian Cup tournament started just as the U.S. and Israel launched air strikes on Iran, killing the Islamic Republic’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. They were eliminated on Sunday after losing 2-0 to the Philippines.
