Major Clothing Brand Plans To File Bankruptcy And Close ALL Stores

A new report has surfaced that the popular clothing brand Eddie Bauer will file for bankruptcy.

Along with the bankruptcy filing, the outdoor clothing brand is expected to close all its U.S. store locations.

A once popular outdoor clothing retailer is expected to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and close all its locations in North America soon. According to Women’s Wear Daily, Eddie Bauer will file for protection soon as it plans to move to an all digital platform in North America.

On Jan. 8, Eddie Bauer’s parent company, Authentic Brands Group, announced a partnership with Outdoor 5, LLC (Oved) for the company to assume responsibility for Eddie Bauer’s e-commerce and wholesale operations. Oved will also take on design and product development in the United States and Canada.

Eddie Bauer has not confirmed the closures, but customers have been posting on social media about local stores closing abruptly. One commenter complained that the company’s website showed a store was open, only for the customer to drive there and find out it was closed.

As of Monday morning, the Eddie Bauer website does not have an option to search for the nearest locations. All returns are directed to an online platform.

Following the announcement, Info Wars Host Harrison Smith revealed that he learned about the closing of the stores after he attempted to return some of the clothing he received for Christmas.

WEAU reached out to mall management as well as Eddie Bauer corporation for more details, including a reason for closing and an exact closing date, but have not heard back yet.
