Fox News has more:
Trump will be in attendance to celebrate the veteran commemoration at halftime of the game, joining Commanders owner Josh Harris in the owner’s suite. Pat McAfee first announced the news, citing “sources.” The Trump administration later confirmed the news by sharing McAfee’s report on social media.
This will mark the first NFL game Trump has attended this season. He was at Super Bowl LIX, won by the Philadelphia Eagles over the Kansas City Chiefs, in New Orleans.
“We are honored to welcome President Trump to the game as we celebrate those who have served and continue to serve our country. The entire Commanders organization is proud to participate in the NFL’s league-wide Salute to Service initiative, recognizing the dedication and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans, active-duty service members, and their families this Sunday,” the Commanders said in a statement.
“White House source tells me President Trump will be at the Lions-Washington game on Sunday. He will sit in owner’s box with Washington owner Josh Harris. The halftime celebration will honor military veterans and President Trump wanted to be there to see it,” OutKick founder Clay Travis said.

This is a Guest Post from our friends over at 100 Percent Fed Up. View the original article here.Several Lions players were asked about Trump being in attendance and the consensus in the locker room seemed to be it’ll be a cool experience.
“Check that off the list, right?” said Lions linebacker Trevor Nowaske. “That’ll be cool. I did not know he was going to be there, but that’ll be super cool to have the president. That’ll be something I’ll be able to tell my kids, I played in front of the president. That’ll be sweet.”
“Appreciate him coming out, but I sure hope he ain’t coming out there to see a Washington win” Lions cornerback Amik Robertson said. “That’s all I know. That’s all I can say.”
ADVERTISEMENTThis isn’t the first time a U.S. president has gone to a game featuring a Detroit sports team. In fact, this wouldn’t even be the first time this year that Trump has attended a game featuring a Detroit sports team.
In recognition of the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Trump attended a Sept. 11 game at Yankee Stadium between the New York Yankees and the Detroit Tigers, one the Yankees won 9-3. That game presented a “unique experience” for many Tigers, as some players even broke out the famous “Trump dance” after getting on base. Will we see the same moves from Lions and Commanders players this weekend?
