In denial at its finest.
The Grandmother of 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, the man accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk, has told Daily Mail that there’s “no way” her grandson killed Charlie Kirk.
Debbie Robinson, 69, told the press that her grandson never spoke about politics and that she doesn’t think he has ever shot a gun.
The grandmother of the accused assassin continued to share that her entire family is Republican and she doesn’t believe anyone in her family is a Democrat.
She later added that there’s no way he could’ve been violent.
The Daily Mail covered the story exclusively and provided the full scoop:
The 22-year-old university student accused of assassinating MAGA firebrand Charlie Kirk grew up in a staunchly Republican, Trump-backing family, Daily Mail can reveal.
Breaking her silence on Friday, Tyler Robinson’s grandmother Debbie Robinson, 69, said she is stunned by the charges against her grandson, describing him as a quiet, reserved young man who ‘never’ spoke politics, despite his father’s staunch Trump support.
‘My son, his dad, is a Republican for Trump,’ Debbie, who also lives in Washington, Utah, told Daily Mail.
‘[Tyler] is the shyest person,’ she added. ‘He has never, ever spoke politics to me at all.‘Most of my family members are Republican. I don’t know any single one who’s a Democrat.
‘I’m just so confused.’Debbie said her son hasn’t answered her calls since the news broke on Robinson’s identity as the suspect in Kirk’s assassination.
She insisted there was no way her grandson could be involved, claiming she had never even known him to touch a gun, let alone own one.
‘I don’t think he ever shot a gun, to tell you the truth,’ she said. ‘He doesn’t hunt, he’s never liked anything like that. I know he doesn’t own any guns.
‘There’s just no way he could have been that good of a shot,’ she said.
ADVERTISEMENTShe also said she never heard of the 22-year-old alleged killer having mental health issues.
‘He’s a wonderful child,’ she said. ‘There is no way that he could have done anything like that. I would cross my heart and promise that there was absolutely no way. He has never, ever gotten in trouble in his life. He’s just a very shy, good kid.
‘There’s no way he could be violent,’ she said. ‘There’s absolutely no way that he done that.
Debbie also revealed that Robinson works in St. George and that she had no idea that she was going to Kirk’s event.

Despite Debbie’s claim, CBS reported Tyler admitted to killing Kirk to his father, who later turned his son in:
A suspect has been arrested in the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk in Utah, officials said Friday morning. Utah Governor Spencer Cox said the suspect had been identified as Tyler Robinson, 22.
Cox said Robinson resides in Southern Utah and confessed to his father.
ADVERTISEMENTTwo federal law enforcement sources told CBS News that Robinson’s father saw the photos released by authorities and confronted his son. Robinson admitted to being the person in the photos and his father encouraged him to turn himself in, the sources said. Robinson responded to his father, saying he would rather die by suicide than turn himself in, prompting his father to call a youth pastor close to the family, the sources said. The pastor and Robinson’s father tried to calm him, according to the sources.
The pastor, who is also a court security officer, also called the U.S. Marshals Service, which arrived and detained Robinson, the sources said.
The sources said the Marshals called the Federal Bureau of Investigation, who took Robinson into custody. Robinson was taken into custody late Thursday night, FBI Director Kash Patel said Friday.
