Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, who is facing allegations of mortgage fraud, finally confessed that the documents in question contained “errors.”
Though, in a lawsuit filed against President Trump for firing her, she is blaming it all on a simple “clerical error.”
Federal Housing Director Bill Pulte, who originally filed the criminal referral against Cook over mortgage fraud, announced on X:
Breaking News: Lisa Cook confessed “errors;” claims its clerical but still an error!

According to Lisa Cook’s lawyers, she accidentally marked two properties in separate states as her primary residence.
It was all a mistake.
Nothing to see here.
The New York Post reported:
Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook sued President Trump Thursday for trying to fire her over mortgage fraud allegations, with her lawyers claiming the disputed loan records could amount to a simple “clerical error.”
The embattled Fed official’s lawyers asked for a DC federal judge to block the president’s “unprecedented and illegal” attempt to oust Cook, which would allow her to keep her job while the case proceeds.
In a subsequent filing, Cook’s attorneys also suggested that the Biden appointee had accidentally “mislabeled” one of her homes as a primary residence on a mortgage application four years ago.
Cook, who assumed her position full-time in 2023 and whose term is set to expire in 2038, recently retained ex-Hunter Biden attorney Abbe Lowell to represent her in the legal tussle with the commander in chief.
In the initial complaint, Lowell and the rest of Cook’s legal team claimed her sacking “would subvert the Federal Reserve Act (‘FRA’), which explicitly requires a showing of ’cause’ for a Governor’s removal, which an unsubstantiated allegation about private mortgage applications submitted by Governor Cook prior to her Senate confirmation is not.”
Really, Lisa?
You expect us to believe that a simple typo caused all this?
WOW: Lisa Cook, the Federal Reserve Board member, is claiming her mortgage fraud discrepancy was an innocent “clerical error” and she didn’t “intend to deceive”
She claimed two separate *primary residence* addresses in two different states. Not a typo.
How is that innocent?

After Lisa Cook filed her lawsuit against President Trump in an effort to stall her removal from the Federal Reserve Board, Pulte filed another criminal referral against her.
This time, it’s regarding a third property.
Pulte explained on X:

3 strikes and you’re out.
Today, U.S. Federal Housing sent a 2nd Criminal Referral in the matter of Lisa D. Cook, related to a mortgage on a 3rd property and alleged misrepresentations about her properties to the United States Government during her time as Governor of the Federal Reserve. On April 7, 2021, Cook entered a 15-year mortgage for a condominium in Cambridge, MA, representing it as her “Second Home”. Only eight months later, on December 1, 2021, Cook signed an ethics form with the U.S. Government that this property was an “investment/rental property”. In subsequent filings from 2022 to 2025, Cook consistently listed this property as an investment/rental property, not a second home. Representing the property as a second home may have allowed Cook to secure a lower “Second Home” mortgage down payment and rates, as investment properties typically carry higher down payments and higher rates due to increased risk. Additionally, Cook allegedly misrepresented her Atlanta, GA property from 2022-2025 to the U.S. Government as her residence, despite evidence suggesting it was being rented out to tenants. Similarly, Cook declared in a 2025 government filing that her Ann Arbor, MI property was her personal residence, however, we have reason to believe that as of 2025, the Ann Arbor property is being used as a rental property, not a personal residence. These inconsistencies appear Cook made additional, multiple false representations, including to the U.S. Government, regarding the status of her mortgages and properties.

Bill Pulte is on fire lately.
Not all heroes wear capes.
CNBC has more on this second criminal referral against Lisa Cook:
Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte on Thursday night said that he had filed a second criminal referral against Federal Reserve Board Governor Lisa Cook, whom President Donald Trump is trying to fire.
Pulte said in a post on X that the new referral relates to a mortgage on a third property of Cook’s “and alleged misrepresentations about her properties to the United States Government during her time as Governor of the Federal Reserve.”
Earlier Thursday, Cook sued Trump, asking a federal judge in Washington, D.C., to block the president from removing her from the board of the central bank.
Trump earlier in the week cited the first criminal referral Pulte made against Cook, which related to purported false claims on mortgage applications for two homes, in a letter notifying her that he was firing her.
Pulte has acted as an attack dog on Trump’s behalf against the Fed, Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, and Cook in recent weeks. Trump for months has demanded, without success so far, that the central bank cut interest rates.
