2.4+ Million People Sign Petition Supporting ILLEGAL Truck Driver Accused of Killing 3 Americans

This is an unbelievable update on the story of 3 innocent Americans who lost their lives on a US roadway — allegedly at the hands of an ILLEGAL truck driver.

Millions of people are adding their names to a petition in SUPPORT OF the truck driver.

The suspect, Harjinder Singh of India, wasn’t ‘illegal’ in terms of just an expired license or some mere formality.

To begin with — and most importantly — he ILLEGALLY entered the United States.

But according to the US Dept. of Transportation, he was then given a full commercial CDL Driver’s License ILLEGALLY by the state of Washington.

Just five hours ago it was being reported that the petition in question had garnered 2.2 million signatures:

In just the few hours since that report, the total number of signatures calling for some form of clemency or reduced sentence has risen drastically.

We’re talking more than 200,000 additional signatures in just the past 5 hours.

That brings the total to 2.4 million people advocating on behalf of the suspect — who is ILLEGALLY IN THE COUNTRY and is facing vehicular homicide charges for 3 Americans who died!

Here’s what the petition signature tally looks like at the moment as I write:

In case you haven’t seen it, here is the horrifying clip that has gone viral from the incident.

It shows both footage from inside the cab at the time of the ILLEGAL (that word again…) U-turn that allegedly caused the crash, as well as some of the on-scene footage:

The calmness of Singh’s actions following the fatal impact of the vehicle as it careened into his big rig trailer is chilling.

And that makes the popularity of the petition arguing for prosecutors to go EASY on him all the more unbelievable.

Singh faces a possible 45-year prison sentence if he’s found guilty, which those signing the petition find extraordinarily too tough… according to the New York Post:

Harjinder Singh, 28, faces three charges of vehicular homicide and up to 45 years in prison after he allegedly an illegal U-turn on the Florida Turnpike on Aug. 12 while driving a tractor trailer — six years after he entered the US illegally.

Since his arrest in California, a Change.org petition calling for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to commute Singh’s sentence if he gets convicted has been signed 2.2 million times as of Sunday morning.

“This was a tragic accident — not a deliberate act. While accountability matters, the severity of the charges against him does not align with the circumstances of the incident,” the petition reads.

Manisha Kaushal, the creator of the petition, signed it “Collective Punjabi youth,” and many of the commenters in support appear to be Indian nationals.

Singh’s family in his home village in India’s Punjab region have also spoken out since news of his arrest, calling for him to get a more lenient sentence.

“His age is 28 years, and if he gets 45 years of jail, then you can imagine what will be the condition of his family,” relative Dilbagh Singh told the Times of India, speaking from the village of Rataul, close to the Pakistani border.

Under Florida law, each count of vehicular homicide carries a 15-year sentence, meaning Singh could be sentenced to 45 years in prison.

Singh entered the US illegally in 2018 after mortgaging his land in India, records show.

At the time, he was detained by the Border Patrol and released on a $5,000 bond, and his immigration case was still pending at the time of the deadly crash.

He claimed to an immigration judge a significant fear of violence if he went back to India and was granted leave to stay and work in the US while his case worked its way through the courts. (Emphasis added.)

Did you catch the second and third line from the end in that NYP article?

He was DETAINED by the Border Patrol in 2018!

And then?  Swiftly deported considering he was trying to ILLEGALLY enter the United States?

No — he was summarily released into American after bonding out of custody.

How do you even ‘BOND OUT’ of Border Patrol custody?  Is that a real thing!?

The Trump Administration’s Sec. of Transportation, Sean Duffy, revealed what might be even crazier.

Not only did Washington State give him that full CDL commercial driver’s license, but they did so in spite of his lack of proficiency in English — meaning he couldn’t read road signs:

Here’s the full text of Sec. of Transportation Duffy’s post:

This cannot happen again.

@FMCSA is launching an investigation into both the driver and White Hawk Carrier.

Here’s what we know:

1. Washington State improperly issued the driver a full-term CDL. Asylum seekers or illegal aliens are NOT allowed to receive this!

2. New Mexico failed to conduct an English Language Proficiency test when they pulled the driver over for speeding. Had they done this, the driver would not have been on the road!

3. We are also looking into California’s issuance of the driver’s CDL.

States MUST FOLLOW THE RULES. If they had, this driver would NEVER have been behind the wheel and three precious lives would still be with us.

The failures here are despicable. Non-enforcement and radical immigration policies have turned the trucking industry into a lawless frontier, resulting in unqualified foreign drivers improperly acquiring licenses to operate 40-ton vehicles.

@POTUS and I moved quickly to require drivers to speak English – our national language – and launch a full-scale audit of how these licenses are doled out.

And all of this is just the tip of the iceberg. We’ll have more updates to share soon.

And as that petition gains signatures, more and more people are voicing their concern over the hardships that Singh will face if he is duly charged and found guilty under the law.

In just the last few minutes the petition has reached nearly 2.5 million signatures.

And a great many of those demanding leniency for Singh are reiterating almost the same talking points, much like this video uploaded to X by a politician in Singh’s home country of India:

Here’s the full text of her post:

I appeal to external affairs minister @DrSJaishankar to take up Sikh truck driver Harjinder Singh’s case with the United State’s govt to ensure his rights, including that to wear a ‘dastar’, are protected & he is not persecuted as a murderer. Harjinder committed a grave mistake which led to a fatal crash but he is not a murderer & should not not treated as such. Also more than 1.5 lakh Punjabi truck drivers in the US shud not be discriminated against due to Harjinder’s mistake & their livelihood shud not be snatched from them by denying them work visas & making it more difficult for them to drive trucks by bringing in new language proficiency rules.

Apparently, not only is it unthinkable that an illegal alien who could potentially be found guilty of killing 3 Americans on American soil might have to suffer the consequences of those actions…

But it is ALSO wrong to plug that loophole in certain states allowing ILLEGALS to drive large trucks on American roadways!?

COME ON — Give me a break!

But that is exactly what many of the petition signatories are arguing, considering the nearly 5 million Indians — many of them here illegally — who drive large trucks up and down American roads… as reported by Breitbart:

The Indian trucker is part of the fast-growing Indian Sikh community in the United States, which includes many illegal and legal migrants. In a post-accident test, he failed to understand English and highway signs.

Since 1990, U.S. government officials have stopped enforcing many laws to encourage migrants to enter the nation’s highways, housing, white-collar workplaces, and streets. More than 5 million Indians now live legally or illegally in the United States amid growing American opposition to the pocketbook damage and chaotic diversity caused by their arrival.

The accident echoes the imported Indian highway culture. “Risk-taking is another prevalent characteristic of Indian drivers,” Indian author Rohit Singh said in a 2024 article:

Most Indian drivers do not think twice before overtaking from the wrong side, speeding on crowded streets, or ignoring traffic signals. This I-care-a-damn and daredevil attitude is a product of the belief that getting ahead, even if only by a few seconds or minutes, is more important than safety. The lack of strict enforcement of traffic laws further emboldens drivers to undertake risky maneuvers, endangering themselves and others.

Another significant issue is the blatant disregard for traffic rules. Many drivers see rules as mere suggestions rather than mandatory guidelines. This attitude stems from poor road discipline and inadequate penalties for violations. The culture of non-compliance is also perpetuated by witnessing others frequently mock rules without facing any consequences whatsoever, creating a vicious cycle of lawlessness on the roads.

Many of the apparent signatories are other Indian migrants in the United States. “Divanshi” wrote, “He left everything backhome to have a better future here. It was a terrible mistake not intentionally. 45 years is a long time.”

Before the petition for leniency towards Singh became a thing, Florida’s Lt. Governor made the trip to California to personally bring him back to Florida.

Why?  — Because Singh had FLED to California after the fatal Florida crash!

That should tell us something about how Illegals view Gavin Newsom’s Sanctuary STATE!

Lt. Governor Jay Collins appeared on Fox News following Singh’s extradition back to Florida to face charges, alleging that the suspect didn’t even seem to show remorse for the loss of life:

Meanwhile, the petition is creeping up on nearly 4.5 million signatures, representing people who are arguing in support of someone who broke the law to enter the country…

And is now being charged with killing 3 Americans for no fault of their own.

That is an unbelievable glimpse at the backwards thinking of so many people — many of which who are here illegally just like Singh.

But what bothers me even more than the backwards thinking of all those other potential illegals — current or future — who are flooding that petition with signatures…

Is the backwards thinking of Americans who keep voting for people who LET that sort of thing happen year, after year, after year.

Americans are still dying at the hands of illegals who can’t even correctly identify our road signs — and states are issuing these people CDL licenses to drive big rigs rather than DEPORTING THEM on the spot!

As Sec. Sean Duffy said in the post I shared earlier…

This cannot happen again.
