Once again, President Trump has proven what a very stable genius he is.
After a band of leftist activist judges colluded to oust Alina Habba as interim U.S. attorney, President Trump and Pam Bondi pulled off a 200 IQ plan to thwart their plot.
First, AG Pam Bondi fired the left-wing replacement for Habba, who was the First Assistant U.S. Attorney.
That happened a few days ago.
Then today, Habba resigned from her position as interim U.S. Attorney — which, she would have had to do on Friday anyways — so that Bondi could appoint her to the position of First Assistant.
And now, since there is no acting U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, Alina Habba automatically gets the role!
Kyle Cheney of Politico broke down Trump and Bondi’s genius plan, step-by-step:
Here's how it works:
1) Habba resigns as interim US attorney, ahead of a Friday deadline
2) Trump withdraws Habba's nomination to take the job permanently
3) AG Bondi appoints Habba First Assistant US attorney
4) Habba automatically becomes acting US attoreny bc of the vacancy.— Kyle Cheney (@kyledcheney) July 24, 2025
In short, President Trump and Pam Bondi conjured up a brilliant workaround to keep Alina Habba on longer than Friday’s deadline.
Fox News confirmed:
A Department of Justice (DOJ) spokesman told Fox News Digital that Habba was now serving as the acting U.S. attorney, rather than the “interim” position that she previously held.
The maneuvers by Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi to keep Habba as the top federal prosecutor in New Jersey are governed by a set of arcane federal vacancy laws.
It all led to this announcement:
Donald J. Trump is the 47th President.
Pam Bondi is the Attorney General.
And I am now the Acting United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey.
I don’t cower to pressure. I don’t answer to politics.
This is a fight for justice. And I’m all in. 🇺🇸

Boom!
That’s how it’s done!
Notably, President Trump had to withdraw Alina Habba’s nomination to the permanent role of U.S. Attorney in order to pull this whole thing off.
Here’s why:
The reason Trump has to withdraw her nomination is because the Federal Vacancies Reform Act prohibits the nominee for a Senate-confirmed office from holding the post on an “acting” basis.

It would have been better if the Senate would have rushed to get her confirmed, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do.
President Trump once again proves his adaptability and ability to get things done in less than ideal circumstances.
That’s why things are so great with him in the White House!
I wouldn’t want anyone else.
