Obama Judge DENIES DOJ Motion to Release Epstein Grand Jury Transcripts

Yet again, a rogue judge is abusing their power to block an important move from the Trump administration.

Today, an Obama-appointed federal judge denied a request from the Department of Justice to unseal and release the Epstein Grand Jury transcripts.

Here are the details:

JUST IN: Obama appointed federal judge Robin L. Rosenberg in Florida has DENIED the DOJ’s request to unseal Epstein grand jury files.
From the NYT: Judge Robin L. Rosenberg wrote that the court’s “hands are tied.” The government had not requested the grand jury’s findings for use in a judicial proceeding, she wrote, adding that district courts are generally prohibited from unsealing grand jury testimony except in narrow circumstances.
She ordered that a new case be created “in the public interest” that provided access to the government’s requests and the denial order, as the Epstein grand jury docket is still sealed. But she ordered closed the case where the government filed its request, which started with the investigation into Mr. Epstein in Florida in 2005.

Sorry folks, her “hands are tied!”

Who is she trying to protect here by refusing to unseal the transcripts?…

This comes after Attorney General Pam Bondi started the process of releasing the transcripts, underneath the direction of President Trump.

Per The New York Times:

The quick denial came in response to a request by the government last week asking the court to unseal those documents and to transfer the case to New York, where Mr. Epstein was indicted after a grand jury investigation in 2019. In its request, the Justice Department cited “extensive public interest” and “transparency to the American public.”

As expected at this point, unsealing the transcripts is proving more difficult than it should be.

The DOJ has filed three requests in two states to unseal Epstein records, and the judge’s ruling specifically applies to Grand Jury transcripts in West Palm Beach, FL.

ABC News has more details:

The request is one of three made by the Justice Department to judges in New York and Florida seeking to unseal records from federal investigations into Epstein.
According to the order by district judge Robin Rosenberg, the records the department sought to unseal related to grand juries convened in West Palm Beach in 2005 and 2007 that had investigated Epstein.
Judge Rosenberg faulted the Justice Department for failing to outline sufficient arguments to justify the unsealing of the records, which are normally protected under strict secrecy rules.
No word yet on the requests filed in New York or how the DOJ’ will respond.
We’ll keep you updated on any new developments, since I have a feeling this is far from over…
