Hundreds of federal agents and military personnel conducted a “federal immigration enforcement operation” in the MacArthur Park area of Los Angeles.
“We are with hundreds of federal agents and military as a massive federal immigration enforcement operation is underway in the MacArthur Park area of the sanctuary city of Los Angeles, an area with heavy MS-13 influence,” Fox News national correspondent Bill Melugin said.
“Mayor Bass has demanded raids stop, Feds respond with one of the largest yet, including Border Patrol agents on horseback. Protesters already showing up,” he added.
“Defense officials said that 90 armed troops were involved in the operation,” ABC News stated.

ABC News reports:
The operation, which included 90 armed troops and 17 military Humvees, displaced a summer day camp, according to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, who said the only point of the operations appeared to be “a political agenda of provoking fear and terror.”
“To me, this is another example of the administration ratcheting up chaos by deploying what looked like a military operation in an American city,” Bass said.
According to a post on X by the Defense Department, U.S. military personnel were on the ground to ensure the safety of federal agents.
“We will protect federal law enforcement and assist by establishing a security perimeter,” DOD wrote.
“This is footage from today in MacArthur Park. Minutes before, there were more than 20 kids playing — then, the MILITARY comes through. The SECOND I heard about this, I went to the park to speak to the person in charge to tell them it needed to end NOW. Absolutely outrageous,” Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass wrote.

Critics blasted the Los Angeles mayor, describing the usual appearance of the park.
“You are correct about one thing: What happened in MacArthur Park is outrageous and un-American. Resign. Now,” one X user wrote, sharing a news report saying the park is “plagued by drugs and crime.”

“What Gavin Newsom doesn’t want you to know is that MacArthur Park is a fentanyl zombie infested apocalypse, that he should’ve taken care of six years ago,” another X user commented.

This is a Guest Post from our friends over at 100 Percent Fed Up. View the original article here. The operation in the large park about 2 miles (3.2 km) west of downtown LA included 17 Humvees, four tactical vehicles, two ambulances and the armed soldiers, defense officials said. It came after President Donald Trump deployed thousands of Guard members and active duty Marines to the city last month following protests over previous immigration raids.
Trump has stepped up efforts to realize his campaign pledge of deporting millions of immigrants in the United States illegally and shown a willingness to use the nation’s military might in ways other U.S. presidents have typically avoided.
ADVERTISEMENTIn response to questions about the operation in MacArthur Park, the Department of Homeland Security said in an email that the agency would not comment on “ongoing enforcement operations.”
More than 4,000 California National Guard and hundreds of U.S. Marines have been deployed in Los Angeles since June — against the wishes of California Gov. Gavin Newsom. Last week, the military announced about 200 of those troops would be returned to their units to fight wildfires.
Newsom called the events at the park “a spectacle.”
Two defense officials told reporters that what happened at MacArthur Park on Monday was not a military operation but acknowledged that the size and scope of the Guard’s participation could make it look like one to the public. That is why the officials spoke on condition of anonymity to provide details about the raid that were not announced publicly. The primary role of the service members would be to protect the immigration enforcement officers in case a hostile crowd gathered, one of the officials said.
“It’s just going to be more overt and larger than we usually participate in,” that official said.
