Thomas Massie FLIPS Vote to ‘No’ On ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ Rule Vote

This just in: Rep. Thomas Massie has flipped from a ‘yes’ to a ‘no’ on the rule vote that would advance the ‘Big, Beautiful Bill.’

Yes, Rep. Massie originally voted for the procedural vote. Then, several hours in, he switched sides.

What a piece of…work.

Now, there are five Republicans in total who have voted against the procedural measure.

Unless at least two flip, then the bill will fail.

The Hill confirmed:

At the two-hour mark on the rule vote, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) has changed his vote from a yes to a no, making five Republicans to oppose the rule and eight still to vote.

Vote right now is 207-217.

Speaker Mike Johnson is currently trying to flip some votes in order to get President Trump’s agenda passed, at long last.

He says he won’t close the rule vote until they have the votes to advance the bill.

Per NBC News:

House Speaker Mike Johnson told Fox News’ Sean Hannity tonight that he plans to keep a procedural vote open “as long as it takes” to address any questions from lawmakers about the Trump agenda bill.

Republicans can afford to lose only three votes to advance the legislation to a final vote. There are currently four “no” votes from Republicans. Members can change their positions while the vote remains open.

Johnson said he has spoken to three of those Republicans and is trying to “find the fourth one.” Earlier tonight, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., left the chamber after he voted against the procedural measure.

“I think they’re open for conversation,” Johnson said of the four holdouts. “Everybody wants to deliver this agenda for the people, and we’re going to give them every opportunity to do that.”

Meanwhile, President Trump isn’t resting.

He’s hard at work making calls and asking: who do I have to talk to convince them to get it passed?

It remains to be seen how President Trump will react to Massie flipping his vote at the final hour…

He is definitely not going to be happy.
