NOT SO FAST: Judge Denies Diddy’s Bail, Will Remain In Jail Until Sentencing

Not so fast, Diddy.

As the WLT Report covered earlier, a New York Jury found Sean “Diddy” Combs not guilty on RICO and sex trafficking charges.

However, the jury did find the disgraced rapper guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

It was speculated that Diddy would walk free and be out on bond, but those speculations have been put to rest.

Fox News reported Diddy was denied bail:

After Judge Arun Subramanian entered the courtroom, he told the parties he had read the submissions.

He then denied Sean “Diddy” Combs’ bail package.

Judge Arun Subramanian said that Diddy has not proven he would not be a risk to have outside of custody.

He noted that the defendant’s violence in his personal relationships, that Combs owned up to, is a contributing factor.

Diddy will remain behind bars until his sentencing hearing. The prosecution has suggested four to five years for the rapper’s sentence.

NBC News had more details on Diddy’s trial:

Sean “Diddy” Combs, the onetime global hip-hop titan whose federal trial unveiled harrowing testimony accusing him of sexual abuse against women and forced drug-dazed “freak offs,” was acquitted Wednesday of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking but found guilty of lesser charges.

The jury’s verdict, delivered on the third day of deliberations, declared Combs, 55, not guilty of one count of racketeering conspiracy and two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion but guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

Later Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian denied Combs’ bail request, saying it would be impossible for him to prove he does not pose a danger.

The verdict is seen as a win for Combs and his defense team, which did not call a single witness during the seven-week trial. After it was read, his family stood in the background, clapping and cheering. Combs fell to his knees in prayer. As he left the courtroom, he told his family, “Thank you, love you.”

Diddy’s sentencing hearing will be on October 3 of this year.
