Chuck Schumer’s Stunt to Force Full Reading Of ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ BACKFIRES Tremendously

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s stunt today to force a read-aloud of the full 940-page ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ was not only a waste of time and taxpayer money, but it ended up backfiring spectacularly.

At one point in the reading, the clerk had to read out a section of the bill that defined, biologically, what a woman is.

Watch the very ironic moment right here:

So, basically, we can thank Chuck Schumer for educating all Senators on exactly what a woman really is!

At least some good came from this!

The original intention of Sen. Schumer was to slow down the passage of President Trump’s agenda by forcing Senate clerks to read the entire, nearly 1,000-page bill out loud.

He announced on X:

Keep in mind that Senators are not required to be present during these readings.

Grok confirmed:

No, Senators are not required to be present during the reading of a bill in the U.S. Senate. The Senate’s rules allow for bills to be read aloud (typically the title or a portion), but this step is often waived by unanimous consent to expedite proceedings, especially for lengthy bills. Senators’ presence is generally required for voting or quorum calls, but not for the reading itself.

It didn’t benefit anyone — especially not these poor, overworked clerks who had to spend 16 hours reading the text of the bill out loud to a potentially empty chamber…

Shame on Schumer.

Folks on X slammed Schumer’s attempt at delaying the bill:

This X user hilariously threw back to Nancy Pelosi’s comment during the debate over Obamacare…

The Senate clerks finished reading the bill around 3 PM this afternoon.

In total, it took 16 hours.

Now, Democrats will do all they can to waste another 20 hours in debating the bill before we can (hopefully) get the agenda passed, at last.

Per Newsweek:

The reading, which began Saturday evening and stretched into Sunday afternoon, represents the culmination of a delay tactic orchestrated by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York to force Republicans to confront the full scope of their legislation and highlight provisions Democrats argue will harm American families…

The legislation now moves to 20 hours of marathon debate, evenly divided between both parties, with Democrats expected to use their full allotment while Republicans plan to use only a few hours.
