The cohesive unity of the Trump Administration as well as it’s base of supporters represented across movements such as MAGA, America First, and conservatives in general is being put to the test.
Or… is it simply being called in to question from the outside, as forces both ‘foreign and domestic’ would like nothing better than to see that unified support for the President shattered?
At the forefront of that question in this moment is the rift that is supposedly opening wider and wider by the day between President Trump and his Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard.
The mainstream media is now jumping wholeheartedly on the bandwagon, claiming that Tulsi Gabbard’s testimony in March about Iran’s nuclear situation refutes what the President says he believes is the case.
Here’s the segment of her testimony that has gone viral over the last week, since President Trump has openly considered attacking Iran directly:
Trump keeps repeating that "Iran can't have a nuclear weapon" to desensitize his base about going to war with Iran.
Tulsi Gabbard in March, 2025: "Iran is not building a nuclear weapon." pic.twitter.com/3GCoSicQ9b
— Blue Georgia (@BlueATLGeorgia) June 17, 2025
That statement is likely all that you’ve heard from her testimony, because almost nothing else she has said is being reported.
The media largely hasn’t dug any deeper, except to immediately splice that short clip alongside what has been labeled as an angry defiance on the part of President Trump when reporters threw Gabbard’s words in his face:
And most news outlets are CERTAINLY not sharing the next few sentences of her testimony after that clip ends, which radically changes the comprehensive picture she gave of Iran’s nuclear situation.
Please note — that does not mean going to war is the right call. That’s not what I’m saying at all.
But as you’ll see… it does prove that there are more smoke and mirrors to this “rift” narrative than there is truth.
At least as far as what is factually known about the current cohesiveness of the Trump Administration versus what is being manufactured out of thin air or being guessed at.
A wide variety of people are saying Tulsi Gabbard is soon to be released from her service to the President — FIRED — and that includes conservatives, not just the Democrats or the left-leaning media:
🚨Just In: Tulsi Gabbard could be forced out soon as DNI according to DC sources!

The pushback against Gabbard from the conservative side is primarily fixated on the argument that she purposefully seeded doubt about Iran’s nuclear enrichment in order to push back against US action against Iran weeks ago, before Israel took preemptive action.
Which would effectively tie the President’s hands at the risk of seeming to disregard the ‘truth’ of the intelligence.
Because we know American intelligence has NEVER been wrong; either by neglect, or on purpose. (Sorry, maybe a little too much sarcasm there.)
Meanwhile, the arguments from the left are primarily intended to paint the Trump Administration as non-cohesive, and President Trump himself as a warmongering tyrant who doesn’t care what the intel actually says.
Both sides have pointed to Gabbard’s own attempt to reconcile her position with the President’s as nothing more than political posturing:

— Eric Daugherty (@EricLDaugh) June 17, 2025
The question is… is it?
Is it political posturing, or is there evidence that the President and his Dir. of National Intelligence actually are on the ‘same page’ — and if so, why does it seem so obvious that they are not?
Without trying to answer those questions at all, much of the media has simply assumed the rift narrative is true, or else they don’t care whether it’s true.
And they are simply bowing to the all-powerful CLICKS and LIKES they can rack up from sensational headlines devoid of contextual weight, while also tallying points for their elite Democrat handlers.
Case in point, here is a good synopsis of exactly that sort of reporting from the UK-based Independent:
As he weighs joining Israel’s war against Iran, President Donald Trump reportedly finds himself at odds with his Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, with one White House official saying that he has “just been kind of down on her in general” of late.
The president was recently incensed, according to Politico, by Gabbard’s decision to post a three-minute video on X in the early hours of June 10 in which she warned that “political elite and warmongers” are “carelessly fomenting fear and tensions between nuclear powers,” placing the world “on the brink of nuclear annihilation.”
Trump is said to have been angered by the video, accusing Gabbard of going “off-message” and rebuking her for it in person.
One of the senior administration officials, quoted anonymously by Politico, said there is a growing perception within the West Wing that the former Hawaii Democratic congresswoman, who once ran for that party’s presidential nomination, “doesn’t add anything to any conversation.”
“I don’t think [Trump] dislikes Tulsi as a person,” said another. “But certainly the video made him not super hot on her… and he doesn’t like it when people are off message.” They added that “many took that video as trying to correct the administration’s position.”
The president’s souring on Gabbard emerged in public view on Tuesday when a reporter aboard Air Force One asked him about comments his intelligence chief had made before Congress in March in which she noted that, although Iran’s enriched uranium levels were at an all-time high, the expert opinion was that Tehran was not currently seeking to develop a nuclear bomb.
But that entire angle, mercilessly painting the Trump Administration as being in turmoil, seems to be completely obliterated if you believe the Vice President of the United States.
You could surmise that JD Vance is simply doubling down on his longstanding support for Tulsi Gabbard, as evidenced by this rousing support for her inclusion within the Trump Administration back in October of last year:
JD Vance: "I've been asked by some folks to comment on Liz Cheney. I think we just traded Liz Cheney for Tulsi Gabbard and that's the biggest upgrade in American politics." pic.twitter.com/qFz3SnfRYM
— TheBlaze (@theblaze) October 4, 2024
But JD Vance isn’t one to double-down on a losing hand.
And if his fresh support for Tulsi Gabbard isn’t a doubling-down… and you take the Vice President at his word (as I do) — then my original premise stands.
This isn’t a real ‘rift”; it is only the mirage of a rift being intentionally orchestrated by nefarious actors that has very little to do with the actual geopolitical situation in the Mideast.
It has to do with their more central priority: bringing down the Trump Administration, or at least making it ineffective.
Which is why I believe JD Vance has come out swinging, as reported by The Hill:
Vice President Vance came to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s defense Tuesday amid criticism over her past comments about Iran, as the administration weighs U.S. involvement in Tehran’s conflict with Israel.
“Tulsi is a veteran, a patriot, a loyal supporter of Pres Trump and a critical part of the coalition he built in 2024,” Vance said in a statement obtained by NewsNation. “She’s an essential member of our nat sec team, & we’re grateful for her tireless work to keep America safe from foreign threats.”
His comments come after President Trump seemingly rejected Gabbard’s assessment of Iran’s nuclear capabilities in remarks on his return from the Group of Seven summit in Canada — which he left a day early amid the unrest in the Middle East.
“I don’t care what she said,” Trump told reporters Tuesday. “I think they were very close to having one.”
Trump, in a recent interview, suggested “it’s possible” the U.S. steps into the conflict. The Pentagon has already ordered a deployment of “additional capabilities” to the Middle East as the U.S. military positions itself to potentially intercede.
White House spokesperson Davis Ingle, in a statement, said Trump’s “peace through strength” foreign policy is “a tried-and-true approach that keeps America safe and deters global threats.”
ADVERTISEMENT“Efforts by the legacy media to sow internal division are a distraction that will not work,” Ingle added. (Emphasis Added.)
Ah — did you catch that quote I put in bold at the end of that article from Davis Ingle?
The White House knows exactly what’s up, and the game being played here.
And that’s why they’re going on the offensive, pushing back against everything their adversaries are trying to do right now — while the situation in Israel and Iran is at it’s hottest — to flank the Trump Administration with manufactured attacks while they are otherwise occupied.
And what’s worse, they’re doing so in a way intended to erode the base of support that put President Trump back in the White House to begin with.
This may be the perfect point to highlight what Tulsi Gabbard ACTUALLY said during her testimony before Congress about the Iranian nuclear program.
Here’s the full clip, in context, that President Trump’s enemies don’t want you to hear:
.@DNIGabbard in March: "Iran's enriched uranium stockpile is at its highest levels and is unprecedented for a state without nuclear weapons." pic.twitter.com/UZ2RN8YiV8
— Rapid Response 47 (@RapidResponse47) June 18, 2025
Here’s that video in a full screen player for convenience:

— Rapid Response 47 (@RapidResponse47) June 18, 2025
Remember, I’m not pointing out the truth of what she said as an argument that the U.S. should join Israel’s attack.
That’s a decision for President Trump to make.
But what I want to highlight is that when Tulsi Gabbard and President Trump say they are on the ‘same page’, saying the same things about Iran’s nuclear program…
The VIDEO EVIDENCE has determined that’s the truth!
And so, if that is true… why is Tulsi Gabbard being SIDELINED from every intelligence meeting, briefing, and key discussions on how to handle the Iranian question?
Oh, look — here’s DNI Tulsi Gabbard this morning, filmed on her way from the Eisenhower Executive Office Building to take part in an intelligence briefing on the Iran situation for the President at the White House:

Manufactured crisis — that’s what this is; smoke and mirrors intended to erode support, distract the President while he’s focused on serious issues, and rile up MAGA to turn on each other.
And it has been somewhat successful, except… it appears that the Trump Administration knows the game being played as this report from News Nation clearly shows:
The Trump administration is denying reports that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth are not playing central roles as President Trump deliberates whether the U.S. should attack Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Regarding Gabbard’s role, a senior administration official and an official in Gabbard’s office strongly denied that she was not a key person in the policy deliberations.
She has been at the White House every day meeting with Trump, a senior administration official told NewsNation.
ADVERTISEMENT“This is just a lazy regurgitation of a fake news story that BOTH the White House and Vice President have already debunked. While the Director is busy briefing the President, Vice President, and national security cabinet every day on the ongoing conflict, CNN continues to spin lies made up by bored, irrelevant anonymous sources with nothing better to do than sow fake division. The Director remains focused on her mission: providing accurate and actionable intelligence to the President, cleaning up the Deep State, and keeping the American people safe, secure, and free,” The DNI deputy chief of staff told NewsNation. (Emphasis added.)
President Trump’s first Dir. of National Intelligence explained the situation in exactly those terms.
After all, who knows better the internal chaos that can happen when the Deep State actors go all-in to thwart the President’s team from the inside, than Gen. Mike Flynn?
And Flynn added another layer to the mix, explaining that the intel Gabbard is being fed is likely not completely accurate to begin with, as he experienced first hand.
Here’s his take from earlier today discussing the situation with Benny Johnson:
🚨Gen. Mike Flynn says intel agencies are feeding DNI Tulsi Gabbard and other Trump Cabinet members false info to sow division:
“That one testimony where she talked about Iran not having nuclear weapons.. That was a set up. Takes what intel says and presents it.” pic.twitter.com/TLVltZBOox
— Benny Johnson (@bennyjohnson) June 19, 2025
On one hand, Gen. Flynn’s insistence that the raw intel Tulsi Gabbard is being fed is poisoned by those with ideological reasons to sabotage her from within — and that tracks.
But as I showed you in the video with Gabbard’s testimony in context, the intel she was giving to Congress was lockstep with what President Trump is saying now.
And that is that Iran only needs the green light to make a bomb, and they currently have ‘unprecedented levels’ of enriched material to pull it off in a matter of days or weeks.
All that is left… is the decision by the Supreme Leader of Iran to make it happen.
I’m not saying that’s the truth, or false intel. But that IS what President Trump is saying now, and that’s identical to what Tulsi Gabbard said in March.
There is literally zero daylight between her position in March, and the President’s position today.
(Go back and listen to that video if you didn’t – spread the full clip far and wide!)
But the impact of realizing Gabbard and the President are on the same page doesn’t change the question before President Trump.
Ultimately, if there is an existential threat qualifying as a clear and present danger to the United States… it falls under Executive responsibility to decide how to react to that knowledge.
And obviously, if he chooses to go in, only Congress can declare war — if that is required for the action he could decide is necessary. It may not be, even if President Trump does choose to take military action.
But what this awareness DOES… is show the fervent attempt by the remaining Deep State and foreign intel services to create the mirage of discord within the Trump Administration at a key moment of decision.
Ashley Hayek (a key personality within the ‘America First’ movement) painted a similar picture to that of Gen. Flynn, but highlighted along those same lines that this alleged “rift” is about OPTICS, not substance:
IS IT A RIFT, THOUGH? REALLY?
Tucker or Tusli versus President Trump? No. It’s the radical left trying to illustrate something that doesn’t exist. Differences of opinion don’t mean there’s impending doom.@ashleyhayek @DBrodyReports @TBatesNews @EmilyRoseFinn pic.twitter.com/2FjofskVMY— Real America’s Voice (RAV) (@RealAmVoice) June 18, 2025
As Ashley Hayek described, every molehill that the enemies of President Trump can highlight and effectively turn in to a mountain — or the shadow thereof — is a success in the optics game.
There is good news for the Trump Administration, besides the fact that they obviously see this for what it is.
When your enemies have to manufacture narratives because there’s nothing of SUBSTANCE to hit you with — you’re winning.
We just have to hold the line, keep the faith, and recognize that even highly successful voyages encounter turbulent seas along the way.
