EPIC FAIL: Maxine Waters Tries to Grill Scott Bessent, Gets HUMILIATED Instead

Maxine Waters made a complete fool of herself today (I know what you’re thinking…what else is new?).

During a hearing, Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters tried to grill Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent over the work that DOGE is doing to rid our government of waste and fraud.

She made several attempts to trap Bessent into a ‘gotcha moment.’

Instead, he completely embarrassed her — more than once.

When Waters asked Bessent why he let “strangers” access the Treasury systems, Bessent just smiled before correcting her.

He informed her that these were not, in fact, strangers — they were “Treasury employees” there to, you know, do their job.

Not that Maxine Waters would know anything about that…

How embarrassing.

But then, things got even worse for Mad Maxine.

At one point during the hearing, Waters asked Bessent to confirm that it was their very first time meeting.

However, it appears Maxine’s memory isn’t so sharp (who would’ve guessed?)

Bessent informed her that they actually met before: at a New Year’s Eve party in the Bahamas.

“You weren’t much better at the electric slide than I was!”

Yikes.

Maxine Waters just got humbled on live TV. She screams, “Strangers!” while Bessent calmly reminds her how jobs work. It's embarrassing.

By the way, this is a totally believable story.

Maxine Waters is known to frequently visit the Bahamas.

The Washington Examiner noted:

Ms. Waters, California Democrat, has been a frequent visitor to the tropical paradise. Her husband was the U.S. ambassador to the Bahamas from 1994 to 1998 during the Clinton administration, and she has continued to visit in recent years. She attended the nation’s independence celebration in 2023, according to an article in the Washington Informer.

Mr. Bessent, a former hedge fund manager, didn’t say what year he witnessed Ms. Waters’ dance moves. But he told her that he met Tuesday with the Bahamas Prime Minister Philip Davis, “who sends his regards.”

Also, Maxine Waters’ questions to Scott Bessent weren’t even on topic.

Bessent was supposed to be testifying about the state of the global finance system ahead of his meeting with a high-level Chinese delegation over the weekend.

Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent returns to Capitol Hill on Wednesday, to testify in the House for a second day. His questioning about the global financial system comes the same day the Federal Reserve made its first interest rate decision since President Trump announced his plan for sweeping global tariffs.

In the first months of his second term, Trump has alternately railed against Fed Chair Jerome Powell for not lowering interest rates and promised to not fire him when markets reacted negatively to suggestions he might do just that.

Instead of asking him relevant questions, Maxine Waters tried to use the opportunity to make Scott Bessent look like a fool for allowing DOGE to audit the Treasury.

And, it backfired tremendously.

She really should learn to keep her mouth shut.

Or even better, retire already!
