On Wednesday, the SpaceX Crew Dragon became the first to launch civilian astronauts into the polar orbit.
The SpaceX Crew Dragon had four civilian astronauts onboard, and they were able to glimpse the white tundra of Antarctica from space.
Chinese-born crypto billionaire Chun Wang took to X and, in a video, stated, “Hello, Antarctica. Unlike previously anticipated, from 460 km above, it is only pure white, no human activity is visible.”
Take a look at some of the scenes:

Per NDTV:
The first civilian astronauts to orbit the Earth’s polar region have shared a breathtaking view of Antarctica’s pristine “pure white” tundra in a historic video captured from space. On Wednesday morning, four space travelers aboard the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule filmed the stunning footage, showcasing the desolate, snow-covered landscape of Antarctica from an altitude of approximately 285 miles.
Chinese-born crypto billionaire Chun Wang, 43, took to X to share the video with a caption that read, “Hello, Antarctica. Unlike previously anticipated, from 460 km above, it is only pure white, no human activity is visible.” The breathtaking six-minute video showcases the continent’s vibrant landscape. In the footage, Mr Wang’s fellow space travellers can be heard congratulating him on this remarkable achievement.
The captivating footage was taken through the Dragon’s Cupola, a unique, all-glass dome on SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft, offering astronauts stunning 360-degree views of space and Earth. In a playful moment, Mr Wang placed his sock-clad feet on the cupola’s window and began walking up and down, with the vibrant, cloudy, and snowy landscape drifting in the background. Jokingly, he referred to this as a “spacewalk,” sending the crew into fits of laughter.

Per The Times:
A bout of space sickness was followed by the perfect pick-me-up when four astronauts opened the blinds on their capsule orbiting their planet.
ADVERTISEMENT“Hello, Antarctica,” exclaimed Chun Wang, commander of the Fram2 mission, as he and his three crew became the first people ever to view the South Pole from low earth orbit.
Wang, a crypto-currency billionaire, paid SpaceX to operate the private mission, which is flying a Crew Dragon capsule in polar orbit around Earth — a trajectory no astronauts have taken before.
Over the course of nearly four days in space, they will pass over the North and South Poles every 46 minutes, collecting imagery.
They are also conducting 22 science and research projects that will expand understanding of the effects of space flight on the human body and how to support astronauts of the future on long-duration space missions. On Tuesday, they took the first human x-ray in space.
