BREAKING: President Trump Chooses Tough ‘America First’ Army Veteran To Shake Up The EPA!

In another high-profile announcement about the shape of his upcoming administration, President Trump has named Lee Zeldin to lead the Environmental Protection Agency.

A former New York Congressman with a strong legal background and real-world military experience, Zeldin has proven to be a staunch Trump advocate, and an impassioned America First proponent.  Check out this clip from earlier today of Zeldin relating what President Trump has already identified as key changes for him to focus on as EPA chief.

The New York Post was the first to break the story, pointing out that the 44 year old Zeldin has Congressional experience under his belt — so his knowledge of the inner-workings of DC will certainly come in handy as he affects changes in the EPA — as well as a legitimate focus on ‘America First’ principles.

Zeldin, 44, served four terms as a Republican congressman repping eastern Long Island before losing the 2022 New York governor’s race to Democrat Kathy Hochul by a surprisingly close margin — and will become a key figure in adopting Trump’s deregulatory and pro-energy production policies.

“I am deeply honored to have been asked by President Trump to serve in his Cabinet. As EPA Administrator, we will restore American energy dominance, revitalize our auto industry to bring back American jobs, make the United States the global leader of Artificial Intelligence advancement, and slash the red tape holding back American workers from upward economic mobility,” Zeldin said in a statement to The Post.

“We will accomplish all this while conserving our environment, protecting access to clean air and water, and keeping the American people healthy. I look forward to contributing to President Trump’s agenda to build a more prosperous future for our nation.”

Under outgoing President Biden, the EPA in March adopted stricter vehicle emissions standards intended to compel carmakers to make half of new vehicles sold have zero emissions by 2030. The measure is likely to be one of the first that a second Trump administration plans to roll back.

Check out this video of Zeldin with President Trump today, talking about the national security aspects of his new position at the head of the EPA, in relation to Chinese farmland.  I can’t help but notice that the incoming EPA chief, while dedicated to the protection of our environment to the degree we can effect that outcome, seems intent on doing so with a prioritized outlook on the non-negotiable realities of our national security.

Zeldin “brilliantly” handled “extremely difficult and complex situations”, according to a Fox News story quoting President Trump.  Fox News also reports that Zeldin has outlined restoring U.S. energy dominance, while still protecting access to clean air and water, among his chief points of focus as Trump’s head of the EPA during the upcoming administration.

Trump confirmed the news in a statement Monday afternoon, writing in part:

“Lee, with a very strong legal background, has been a true fighter for America First policies. He will ensure fair and swift deregulatory decisions that will be enacted in a way to unleash the power of American businesses, while at the same time maintaining the highest environmental standards, including the cleanest air and water on the planet. He will set new standards on environmental review and maintenance, that will allow the United States to grow in a healthy and well-structured way.”

Trump said Zeldin has “brilliantly” handled some “extremely difficult and complex situations.” He said he is sure Zeldin will “quickly prove to be a great contributor!”

“It is an honor to join President Trump’s Cabinet as EPA Administrator,” Zeldin wrote on X. “We will restore US energy dominance, revitalize our auto industry to bring back American jobs, and make the US the global leader of AI. We will do so while protecting access to clean air and water.”

Check out the impassioned commonsense approach Zeldin took on the House floor as he pushed back against the Pelosi-led attack on President Trump when he signed off on the targeting and killing of Iranian IRGC General Qasem Soleimani in 2020 in response to the continued attacks on U.S. troops at Soleimani’s behest.

I have heard dozens of “panic buttons” being pressed lately, with democrats worrying that President Trump will create upheaval and enact monumental changes, altering the current path of the United States and the trajectory that the Biden-Harris administration has put us on.

With President Trump’s decision to place Lee Zeldin at the head of the EPA — after already defining his intent to gut and fix every corner of the overgrown federal government — I would gladly agree with the democrats who expect those momentous changes to occur.

Is President Trump going to field the U.S. military to come after and “round up” those who disagree with him?  The absurdity of that statement should need no further pushback.  Is he, however, going to come after the waste, corruption, and completely un-American cancers found within government institutions and the three-letter agencies lacking any meaningful oversight?  The clarity of that statement should need no further affirmation.
