REPORT: Tanks Cross Border, Take Up Strategic Positions

Reports are coming in from various foreign media sources that Israeli tanks have crossed the border into Syria.  Information is sparse at the moment about what this means or what the intention is behind the cross-border movement into Syria.

Currently, even the Jerusalem Post isn’t providing a lot of information on the sudden incursion into Syria, while most of the world’s eyes are fixated on the heightened danger between Iran and Israel, and Israel’s continuing strikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Two Israeli tanks crossed into Syria on Monday, according to Israeli media, citing Syrian reports.

Acoording to the reports, the tanks positioned themselves near the border town of Kwdana/Kodna, south of Quneitra, which has been the site of several tank battles, most famously in the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

Sifting through various foreign media sources, I was able to find the following information shared by a Turkish journalist, Mete SohtaoÄŸlu, on X.com :

Almost everything else circulating on social media at the moment is obviously highly suspect propaganda which I am unwilling to share.   From Mete’s information, it appears as though Israel is preparing to put the finishing touches on a buffer zone that may have been in the works off and on for some time — but that is not confirmed.

This is a developing story.  We will bring you more information as it becomes available.
