BREAKING: Hunter Biden To Be Held Contempt Of Congress

The House Oversight and Accountability Committee has released a resolution intending to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress.

The move is in response to Hunter Biden defying a subpoena for the Biden impeachment inquiry.

Republicans wished to question Hunter Biden behind closed doors, whereas Hunter Biden demanded a public platform to testify.

The folks at Fox News have more on the story:

Instead, Hunter Biden appeared on Capitol Hill to deliver a statement to the press, defying that subpoena, and said he would only testify in a public setting.

“Mr. Biden has violated federal law, and must be held in contempt of Congress,” the report reads.

The House Oversight report identifies Hunter Biden’s testimony as “a critical component of the impeachment inquiry into, among other things, whether Joseph R. Biden, Jr., as Vice President and/or President: (1) took any official action or effected any change in government policy because of money or other things of value provided to himself or his family; (2) abused his office of public trust by providing foreign interests with access to him and his office in exchange for payments to his family or him; or (3) abused his office of public trust by knowingly participating in a scheme to enrich himself or his family by giving foreign interests the impression that they would receive access to him and his office in exchange for payments to his family or him.”

Hunter Biden is a spoiled child who thinks he has the power to tell Congress how his questioning will take place.

The Hills shares more on the story:

The brief resolution directs the Speaker to refer the contempt report “to an appropriate United States attorney, to the end that Mr. Biden be proceeded against in the manner and form provided by law,” and it calls on the Speaker to “otherwise take all appropriate action to enforce the subpoena.”

The Oversight and House Judiciary panels are scheduled to hold markups Wednesday morning to consider the contempt resolution, which Oversight Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) and Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) had promised to move forward on after Hunter Biden did not appear for a Dec. 13 deposition.

Hunter Biden had offered to appear in a public hearing, with his legal counsel arguing House Republicans would misrepresent closed-door testimony and pointing to a previous statement from Comer saying witnesses could come in “depositions or committee hearings, whichever they choose.”

But Republicans said a public format, with rounds of questioning cycling between members on the panel, was insufficient alone for the investigation, offering a public hearing at a later date and to release the transcript of the deposition. The Republican leaders noted that initial closed-door testimony is standard for such inquiries.

The sooner Hunter Biden can be questioned, the better.

The shady business dealings of the Biden family need to be laid out to the public.

Especially now that the 2024 presidential election is just around the corner.

The people deserve to know who they are voting for.
