Fox News Receives Wake-Up Call, Tucker Carlson Vindicated?

The adage never gets old! If you go woke, you will go broke.

I have long watched companies and businesses make stupid decisions of both the woke and the non-woke variety and it never ceases to amaze me. Why would someone enthusiastically shoot themselves in the foot?

Fox News‘ decision to fire their leading news personality, America’s former #1 cable news personality Tucker Carlson, seems to have cost them.

According to the latest television ratings, Fox News is still America’s most-watched news channel; however, Fox has also recorded its worst ratings in almost a decade.

The network may have had a big lead, but that lead is deteriorating rapidly—this is no random or isolated incident.

Make no mistake, these poor ratings are due to their firing of Tucker Carlson. Even when Fox News reportedly broke with Trump, and refused to report fairly and accurately about the 2020 election fraud, their ratings didn’t slump this much.

Here’s the latest data and just some of the reactions to Fox News’ slumping viewership:

Deadline, one of the premier outlets for TV, Hollywood, and entertainment news, noted:

In seven-day primetime, Fox News averaged 1.85 million viewers, down 20% from a year earlier.

MSNBC averaged 1.22 million, up 2%, and CNN posted 582,000, down 19%.

In the adults 25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 212,000, down 38%, while CNN posted 125,000, down 27% and MSNBC had 124,000, down 6%.

Former viewers of the network explained that they no longer watch the cable news network because of the decision to fire Tucker Carlson as a personality for the station.

However, it wasn’t all doom and gloom for Fox News, according to Mediaite:

Fox News closed out the year on top, extending its reign as the most-watched cable television network for the 8th consecutive year.

The network scored the top six shows in the cable news industry with The Five becoming the first non-prime time show to land at number one in both the key 25 to 54 age demographic and in total viewers.

2023 also marked Fox’s 22nd year in a row leading cable news in both total viewers and the demo in both total day and prime time viewers.
