You have got to be kidding me with this nonsense.
Yesterday, Rep. Thomas Massie asked the Republican base who they preferred as Speaker of the House and conservatives overwhelmingly responded that they wanted Congressman Jim Jordan.
At the time I took part in the poll, Jordan had captured over 93% of the vote in that poll.
The establishment voted in secret and sought to install Steve Scalise as the next Republican Speaker of the House—something that didn’t sit well with the base at all.
Scalise has since dropped out of the race after he failed to secure the required 217 votes to win.
This hasn’t stopped the establishment from throwing another wrench in the race for House Speaker.
Rep. Austin Scott announced on Friday: “I have filed to be Speaker of the House. We are in Washington to legislate, and I want to lead a House that functions in the best interest of the American people.”

“You are not running to be Speaker. You are running to stop Jim Jordan from being Speaker because protecting the interests of DC and Ukraine is more important to you than representing your voters. Drop out and go away,” Greg Price shot back.

Just The News explained:
The House GOP conference held its second election for House speaker on Friday between Reps. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and Austin Scott, R-Ga. Jordan came out on top 124-81.
Unusual Whales pointed out: “Representative Austin Scott was the top political trader in 2021. He sold FuelCell Energy, $FCEL, on 2021-01-14, after buying on 2020-10-30, for a 780%. He sat on the Commodity Exchanges, Energy, and Credit subcommittee. Wild.”

Scott told the media: “There are people in there who like to go on the TV and are not necessarily negotiating for anything other than TV time…It makes us look like a bunch of idiots.”

Fox News provided more statements from Scott:
Scott called Jordan his “good friend” while talking to reporters and that he doesn’t “necessarily want to be the speaker of the House.”
ADVERTISEMENT“I want a House that functions correct, but the House is not functioning correctly right now,” Scott said.
The Georgia Republican said if the GOP is “going to be the majority party” they “need to act like it.”
