Hall of Fame Quarterback Baptized At 63

After leading one of the most dominant offenses of the early 1990s, a Hall of Fame Buffalo Bills quarterback has allowed God to take the lead.

Jim Kelly was baptized at the age of 63.

Jim Kelly led the Buffalo Bills for 11 seasons after the team drafted him in 1983.

He spent two seasons in the USFL before the league folded.

The Bills stilled held his rights, so he joined them in 1986.

Kelly famously led Buffalo to four consecutive Super Bowls from 1990-1993.

Unfortunately, the Bills failed to win any of those championship games.

After his playing career finished, Kelly battled cancer.

It wasn’t the first time that the Kelly family dealt with tradgedy.

Jim’s son Hunter died at the age of 8 in 2005.

Hunter was born with Krabbe disease which led to his death.

Jim and his wife Jill created a non-profit, Hunter’s Hope Foundation, to help others afflicted with Krabbe disease.

Despite dealing with losses and hardships both on and off the field, Kelly found that God helped him through everything.

After Hunter went to heaven I was so lost and angry at God. But God loved me anyway and he never gave up on me.

Becoming a Christian is the best decision I’ve made in my life. I wish I would’ve come to him sooner. But his timing is perfect. And finally, I was baptized. I have so many people to thank especially all of the people who have prayed for me for so long. THANK YOU

Jim Kelly’s baptism reenforces his faith in God which has helped him through his challenges in life.

The pastor told him prior to the baptism that it was “15 years of bible study, prayer, and growth” that led to this moment.
