Fitness Instructor Dead at 33 Following Double Cardiac Arrest

A Brazilian fitness influencer by the name of Larissa Borges has tragically died at age 33 after suffering a double cardiac arrest.

Borges was in a coma for over a week before passing away on Monday.

She suffered the first cardiac arrest on August 20th and was rushed to the hospital before it happened a second time.

Borges had a very large following on Instagram, where she shared health and fitness advice.

Just days before she was hospitalized, she shared pictures on her Instagram from Gramado.

The New York Post reported on Borges’ sudden death:

Brazilian fitness influencer Larissa Borges tragically died Monday after suffering a double cardiac arrest due to unknown causes. She was 33 years old.

The gym bunny’s family confirmed her passing in a post to her Instagram page. “The pain of losing someone so young, just 33 years old, and so kind, is overwhelming,” the bereaved relatives wrote. “Our hearts are broken, and the longing we will feel is indescribable.”

They added that the social media star had “fought courageously” for her life.

According to local media, the Federal District native had been hospitalized on August 20th after suffering from cardiac arrest while traveling in Gramado.

Borges subsequently went into a coma, where she remained for a week while her family provided updates on her condition on social media.

Disaster struck after Borges suffered a second cardiac episode and passed away shortly thereafter.

Larissa’s family had been keeping fans updated on her condition through taking over her account to post Instagram updates.

Fans flooded the comments with well wishes and messages of support, reading ‘Jesus bless you Lari! I’m praying for you’ and ‘Stay strong Larissa’.

However, yesterday her family shared the devastating update that she had died, adding that she ‘fought courageously for her life’.

In the caption, her parents wrote ‘Our beloved daughter, take your steps with God and be blessed’.

According to Breitbart, there is an investigation into the possibility that alcohol or other substances could have played a role in Borges’ death:

“There is a report of a possible ingestion of narcotic substances accumulated with alcoholic beverages,” said Deputy Gustavo Barcellos. “The body was sent for necropsy. We will try to search through laboratory tests for substances that she possibly consumed.”
